Install a mailclient locally on your PC. For example Mozilla Thunderbird. Configure the mailaccout with IMAP (not POP3).

Additionally

 you can use mailstore home

The best way is to configure a mail client (imap4) like Outlook and synchronize it with your webmail.

Then you have to make a backup with a PST file.

See Microsoft Description:

Back up your email

As a free alternative you can also use thunderbird.

Attention:

Do not use POP3 if you want to leave a copy on the webmail.
