How do I wire a T-T83 socket

  • Good evening,

[For those who are lazy readers; How do I wire the T-T83 socket? Previously removed VDSL splitter.

cable available; 2 orange cables (already on the socket) and one each of turquoise, blue, white and violet cable/wire]

Today I was allowed to open the package with the new router and the new Swisscom TV box and wanted to install them according to the instructions… (Yes, connection would be ready)

Everything was so good so far, but when it came time to plug in the new router, problems arose…

The router now has to be connected to the normal, old socket again, without the VDSL splitter (Alcatel, PCE2B0U-42 rev.0D) that was (permanently) installed for us a few years ago.

Well, since removing the hard-wired splitter would be time-consuming, I tried without success to simply plug the router into the socket and unplugged all other cables… Without success.

At some point I decided to remove the splitter and unscrewed the socket and was able to remove the splitter.

The problem now, however, is the now freely hanging cables that once led to the splitter, without which the socket doesn’t seem to work…

Can someone tell me how I can wire the T-T83 correctly?

There are 2 orange cables (already on the socket) and a turquoise, blue, white and violet cable/wire…

I’m grateful for any help! 🙂

    Best regards,

    Simon Külber

PS: forgive typos etc., I have to write on my smartphone without the internet, that’s quite tedious here in the forum…

Maybe I can upload another photo…

    • Cut off the red terminals from the blue and white wires and connect only these to the T+T 83 socket that would otherwise be properly connected.

The wires connected now probably go to the other T+T sockets. If you want this to work again, it will be explained to you afterwards…

Wow it actually worked, the router configured well! 😄

    Thank you very much too!

Then I can now easily reassemble it and put caps on the loose cables and stow them in the wall?

    I don’t necessarily need the other sockets…

    Wish you a relaxing evening!
