Swisscom BBCS (green.ch) + Fritz!Box 5530 XGS-PON

Hello,

This is not fully Swisscom related, but my problem probably applies to all ISPs using Swisscom BBCS (Wingo, Teleboy, or green.ch in my case)

I would like to use my Fritz!Box 5530 OE XGS-PON, with the corresponding SFP module, on a green.ch FTTH connection I just subscribed to. They gave me a TPlink HB210 Pro + a Huawei ONT. I would like to use my Fritzbox with the sfp module instead of those 2 devices.

But I can't get it to work. Here is what I observe:
- The devices provided by Green.ch works as expected
- When I connect my Fritzbox, in the setup wizard, it correctly detects that I am with green:

(it got automatically selected, I did not choose Green.ch DHCP FTTH myself).

- But then, it tells me that the router needs to be authorized by green.ch:

I called green.ch support, who told me that no authorized or configuration was required to use another router. I also showed them the swisscom BBCS routers link: https://www.swisscom.ch/dam/swisscom/en/ws/documents/E_BBCS-Documents/e_bbcs_supporting-documentproved-equipment.pdf (my Fritz!Box 5530 XGS-PON is in this list) and they confirmed that I could rely on that list. I can enter an Installation ID, but I couldn't find if I need one and if I do, what it is.

- Then, I have no connection at all on the Fritz!Box. I cannot finish the wizard as it can't connect.

I tried the following:
- Switching to "green.ch" instead of "green.ch DHCP FTTH" option. I can enter more settings in that case, like login infos. I guess (but I'm not sure) that this option is for PPoE internet, and not DHCP. I am assuming the automatic detection was right. I have no better result in that case.
- Switching to "other provider". Same problem. I tried to set "VLAN 10" as some people here mentionned it. It made no difference.
At each point of the process, I tried to connect to http://swisscom.ch/start, without success.
My questions would be the following:
1. Do you have a method to connect my Fritz!Box 5530 to green.ch internet?
2. Do you have informations about other Swisscom BBCS ISPs? (Wingo, Teleboy…)
3. Do you know why the Fritz!Box GUI tells me registration is necessary, and green.ch support tells the contrary?
4. Do you know other settings in the Fritz!Box that I should be trying ?

Bei mir läuft seit Mai 2025 die von Green gelieferte FritzBox 5530 Fiber XGS-PON. Habe die gemäss der Anleitung eingerichtet und ist problemlos online gekommen.

Du musst Green dazu bringen das sie dir Helfen.

Und die andere Frage ist, was für eine Technik hat der Router von Green? Auch XGS-PON oder BX-Signal

Wenn es ein anderes Format hat, geht die Fritz nicht, da Green dich noch nicht auf XGS-PON umgestellt hat.

Lori-77 Hello, thank you very much for your answer.

Green will not help me, they do not provide help for other routers (which is understandable). They simply say that it is possible and confirmed to me that I could trust the Swisscom BBCS list.

I confirm that the technology Green provides is XGS-PON, as the ONT they provided me is a Huawei OptiXstar HN8010Ts-20 XGS-PON.

As I can't get more help from Green, I am looking for help from the community. I guess the situation is the same as with other BBCS ISPs.

Und für die fehlende Daten ist dann Green verantwortlich, habe bis jetzt nur 1 mal bei einem Kunden so einen Router gesehen.

Dort musst du deine Aktivierungsnummer eingeben.

Evt ist es die OTO-Nummer mit dem Plug:

Und Swisscom hat sicher nicht deine Aktivierungsnummer von Green…..

From what I have read elsewhere (please correct me if I am wrong), the registration of the router with the activation number (that can be the OTO ID) must be done on the http://swisscom.ch/start page and not in the router settings.

I have read that we should first define the ISPs as "other", set "VLAN: 10". That apprently allows us to get a temporary IP from DHCP. Then when trying to reach a page, the Swisscom BBCS start page appears and then the router can be registered with that ID. My problem, from what I understand, is that I can't get that temporary IP which means I can't get to the Swisscom BBCS start page, so I stuck before having the opportunity to register the router.

Is that correct? Or are you sure that you are talking about a setting in the router settings?

HP Thank you very much for your answer. I would have some questions, I am very interested into your feedback:

Which offer do you have at Green? (M, L, XL….) They gave me a TPlink+Huawei router. I have seen on their documentation that they do (or did in the past) provide FritzBox routers. But they did not gave me the choice to have a FritzBox.
Which instructions are you talking about? I have seen this https://www.green.ch/de/anleitung , can you confirm that it is exactly what you did? If this is not what you did, can you send me the instructions you followed please?
From what I understand from the video, there is indeed a web page where you have to register the router with the OTO ID, + an activation code.

Can you confirm that this is what you did? The problem is that here it is very unclear what the page looks like because they did not show it. Was it a Swisscom branded page, aka http://swisscom.ch/start ? How did you access that page ? Did you do it with your PC or smartphone ? Did the page opened instantly or did you have to enter an address ? If yes, which one ?
Did you have to do special configuration in the router, prior to get that page? Did you have to set "VLAN: 10" ? That is not in the video but I've read people talking about that.
Where did you get the activation code ? I did not get any code, probably because with the TPlink router+Huawei ONT, there is no configuration required. If you still have your activation code, could you please look into your green.ch account (especially in the "network" section) to see if you can find it here? If you can find it here, then maybe I can find mine too.

Ich habe die Anleitung leider nicht mehr. Soweit ich noch weiss, musste ich OTO-ID, Plug und glaub auch die NSN eingeben. Mehr nicht, sicher kein VLAN. Weiss auch nicht mehr, was für eine Seite das war.
Die NSN sehe ich bei mir im Benutzerkonto. Ist die als Aktivierungscode gemeint?
Eingestellt ist green.ch DHCP FTTH. Ich habe eine Fritz!Box 5530 XGS-PON ohne OE
Details:
Aktuell ist FritzOS 8.20, bein Einrichten war es noch eine 7x Version
Modem-Software-Version: 1.20.0_3.19.0.3.68
SFP-Modul: FRITZ!SFP XGS-PON
PON-Seriennummer: AVMG7B4B….

Could you please show me with screenshots (with all private informations censored) the Internet settings of your FritzBox GUI? I am interested into seeing how the network access is set, so I can compare with mine. I would like to see if there is a setting, login, ID or anything, that is set with green.ch DHCP FTTH.

Also, could you also show me (with censoring private informations) the informations in your green.ch account? Mine look like this:

My NSN is empty as you can see, maybe it indicates something.

Vergiss in jedem Fall mal die VLAN-ID 10 und die Swisscom-Registrierungsseite „swissom.ch/start“, denn diese Angaben sind nur für blue-Abos von Swisscom relevant.
Falls Du also jemals auf der Swisscom-Registrierungsseite landest, oder diese explizit ansteuerst, dann bist Du schon mal auf dem falschen Netz, denn ein BBCS-Abo kannst Du nicht als Swisscom-Abo registrieren.

Was Du also echt benötigst sind die „Green-spezifischen“ Angaben für die Registrierung von nicht vorkonfigurierten Fremdroutern.
