It is very strange offer. On Monday, July 17th, 2023 at about 18:15, I went to Swisscom boutique at Geneve Cornavin railway station. I asked for this offer and they have refused to sell it to me as they required passport and they insisted that an official personal ID card is not enough. But most of the Europeans do not travel with passports across Europe because crossing borders and embarking planes or ships with ID card is accepted everywhere with few exceptions. So, this offer is for whom?

I guess it depends from which country is the ID.

I am sorry if you experienced a bad experience at the Cornavin Swisscom Shop.

When taking out a prepaid bundle, an ID is requested for citizens of the European Union and the European Free Trade Association. Other foreign citizens need to provide a passport.

Unfortunately, I have got really bad experience in Swisscom boutique. I have given them my ID card, i.e. an ID card of an EU citizen, and it was refused. They claimed that ONLY passports may be accepted.

I believe that the Swisscom personnel should be better instructed as foreign customers should be odd at Geneva railway station.
