Last Friday we had a major thunderstorm in Heiden and the old routers of myself and several neighbours stopped working - no tv, no internet, no telephone, no wifi.
On Saturday I phoned the hotline and was told that a technician would have to come and look at this, this would probably first happen on Wednesday (!) I then spoke to a couple of my neighbours who said they had been told by the hotline to exchange their routers at a Swisscom shop. One of them had already done so that morning, and his new router worked fine.
A few minutes later the technician from Swisscom called to make an appointment to come, and I told him about my neighbour's new router working. He suggested I also exchange mine and see if this solved the problem.
Saturday afternoon I went to the Swisscom shop in Rorschach, and was given a new Internet ox Plus in exchange for my router. At no time was I asked for my name, address or telephone number, was just told to switch on the new router and wait for 5 minutes.
I dd so, and from then on everything worked fine - I have tv, internet, wifi etc again.
However, the Internet Box Plus power light is continually blinking red and white, and the display shows that it has been unable to update my swisscom details and in the display there is simply an (!) next to the WLAN display.
I have followed instructions found on the website to simply restart the router, but this has not changed anything - the light still blinks red and white.
How can I solve this?
Thanks
Jack
