I have a relatively new Swisscom TV box (6 months old) and it has been working perfectly with my 105 cms Panasonic plasma TV. I have had the aspect ratio setting on the TV set to either 16:9 or Panasonic Auto - I can't remember which but it was perfect.
Suddenly I can no longer get the picture right. There is a black band across the bottom of the screen on all aspect ratio settings except the most zoomed in setting which leaves out a lot of the rest of the picture. The 16:9 (or Panasonic Auto) setting gives a picture with the bottom approximately one sixth of the screen black and most of the transmitted image squeezed up and occupying the remainder of the screen.
The problem is that there is not a single aspect ratio setting that will display the menu options from the Swisscom TV box on my TV. One or two of the TV aspect ratio settings show part of the top line of the menu options but the rest and ALL of the lower line is off the bottom of the screen and thus invisible.
Aspect ratios 14:9 and 4:3 display what they can of the image without the squeezing taking place but they cut off the sides of the picture - which is only to be expected.
I think the Panasonic TV is OK as DVDs show and play perfectly in 16:9 and/or Panasonic Auto.
It looks like the Swisscom box is sending a strange signal to my TV so what I'd like to know is if there a 'factory reset' button/option on the Swisscom TV box? Perhaps this exists on the menu somewhere but as mentioned above, I can no longer see/access it.
Thanks for any help here. Brian.
