What's new when fiber optic comes into the house

I have the Trio Casa, which is no longer available. The fiber optics have been installed in the basement for a few days now.

Today I can operate 2 boxes.

When I asked whether another box could be operated after the fiber optic installation (e.g. for another 10 sfr), I received the answer from SWISSCOM that there was only this combination offer of sfr 179.00, around sfr 55.00 more expensive than casa trio, with services that I not use).

That doesn’t seem customer friendly to me.

Does anyone know if anything else is planned?

Otherwise I would have to switch to the competition from EWB Bern, they have pulled in the fiber together with SWISSCOM and recommend competitors with other offers than SWISSCOM!!

It will probably be the case that there will only be a 3rd box with the 5-star offer from Vivo Casa.

But I am of the opinion that it used to be possible with Casa trio. Whether that makes sense remains to be seen. Because only two streams are possible on copper. On glass there are 3, and still HD, as far as I know. That’s probably why only with the 5-star offer.

Otherwise I would try to see if it might still be possible (in Kundencenter) to order a 3rd box with Casa trio.

Or just another offer. Quick Line:smileywink:

But I can’t say whether it’s worth it. It will probably be summer until I have glass and can take care of it.

I’m not a salesman. But I think you were told rubbish.

You can purchase all Vivo Casa products from fiberglass. Also Vivo Casa 4 stars for 125.- + 20.- for 2 additional TV boxes.

At least nothing else was officially communicated.

You can still have 3 boxes.

I don’t know what Swisscom’s policy is, but I could also imagine the following:

You say fiber optics have been pulled to your house connection. Then the in-house cabling would still have to be done. For Vivo Casa ***** you need the fiber optic connection, so they would also do the in-house cabling for you. The other services work the same way, you should actually reach the 20 profile. That’s why they won’t offer you the fiber optic connection for this, but only for the services that really need it.

@oli: Yes, there could be something to that.

Personally, I don’t want faster internet or free calls on SC cell phones.

I just want to have at least 2 HD streams available.

Thanks for the many answers. We’ll see what Swisscom comes up with. Until now, I was of the opinion that the much-vaunted fiber optic would now basically be introduced into every apartment, and then the customer could choose what he wanted. That would actually be progress. Today I’m sitting on a two-wire line that was installed sometime after 1895 (that’s how old the house is). I still have the well-known 4-pole Anschluss!!. But it works with 20 MBit and I have HD and 2 boxes.

But, I think, if the pigeon is already sitting in the basement, why should I be content with the sparrow on the floor?

A solution for me would be to keep Trio Casa as before (without any additional costs) but thanks to the fiber optic technology, for example, I could watch two channels simultaneously and record at least one at the same time.

I saw something like that with the competitors EWBern.

The competition will probably take care of it.

Hello

In principle you can have 3 boxes with copper, but it remains with the 2 streams (1+1HD).

With fiber there are 3 HD streams. However, certain limitations remain. For example, you still cannot stream HD recordings from one box to the other.

Yes, what’s the point of having a glass Anschluss with a high bandwidth if it ultimately fails because of the hardware?

I still use the old Casa Trio and don’t have fiber optic yet. Unfortunately, I have no idea when that will come.

But I’ve also been using 3 boxes since December because we moved a room and still had a previous TV. Sure, you can only watch two boxes at the same time, but at least it’s possible to operate a third device…

I’ve been wondering that too. I received glass but just because I don’t want Vivo Casa but have DSL and Natel Pro I can’t get the glass connection activated 😞

What does glass do for you with DSL and Natel? You can only have 20,000 anyway…

So that I can use two HD channels in parallel on ScTV. I also took the additional HD package for this.

Ah, all clear…
Well, you probably have no choice at the moment but to take a Vivo package…

I’m just wondering how the sentence

“The right package for every requirement”

is to be understood.

I don’t need a landline connection or TV Air, I want two parallel 2HD streams.
