Third party router setup issues

Hello

When I moved in my current place, I took over the contract of the prev tenant (100mbps copper internet) and I'm trying to find out if I can use my own router (Asus rt-ax58u) because I was happy how it performed in the past.

I checked the 3rd party router page on the swisscom site for information but I can't seem to get it to work. The page says I need to set the DHCP option 60, but even if I do, the internet is unreachable like the cable is unplugged. I'm very confused, am I missing something? Has any of you managed to get your own router working?

The copper internet uses DSL and unfortunately, your router is not equipped with a DSL-Modem.

To make it work, you either have to put a Swisscom Internetbox 3 in front of your router or buy a dedicated DSL-Modem.

If I were you, I'd see if Swisscom would send you an Internetbox 3 for free (if the prev. tenant did not leave his behind), use it for the DSL-Part and then connect the ASUS-Router to a LAN Port of the Internetbox
