Pfsense mit XGS-PON

Hi there!

I am planning on using a firewall with pfsense at home. I have an IB4 with XGS-PON. I read many guides on how to achieve this:
1. Buy a router (approved by swisscom and tested for XGS-PON from the following list: https://www.swisscom.ch/content/dam/swisscom/en/ws/documents/E_BBCS-Documents/e_bbcs_supporting-documentprovedequipment.pdf )

2. Put said router in bridge mode and configure it accordingly. For example with the help of Marc Walter's tutorial:

My question now is related to the router. The Zyxel AX7501-B0 costs around 400 CHF. The price seems a little bit overkill for just using it as bridge mode.

I found this device Zyxel XGS-PON-Bridge PM7300 wich only costs 185 CHF.

I was wondering if I can use this device instead of the AX7501-B0 and save me some money.

You can use the original IB4 with the pfSense in Double Nat mode with a cascaded Net, or you can buy the the Zyxel XGS-PON Bridge with the pfSense Appliance as Access-Router itself.

The idea to buy a hole XGS-PON Router for only putting it to bridge mode is not longer needed since the first XGS-PON Bridges came available on the market.
