Disable the warning that the router is not placed in vertical position

I just installed the Internet Box 4 and it keeps complaining that for the best reception it’s recommended to place the router in vertical upright position.

I know that, but I had to put it in the distribution box where the fiber is terminated. How do I dismiss this warning?

Yes, I know but I have no choice. Swisscom is aware of the fact that this is not always possible, they even sell the kit to mount it in the cupboard for 38.- CHF.

Is it possible to acknowledge and disable the warning in the router UI?

@bitracer: There is no possibility to disable the warning in the webportal. If you place it exactly as in the description of the distribution kit (connectors upwards) the message is also disappearing.

Aha, but that’s also not practical for me. The patch cable terminations are at the bottom of the cabinet, so it’s much easier to connect the cables if the ports are facing down.

Still thank you for the answer. It’s maybe something to consider for future firmware updates. It should only report wrong positioning if it’s placed on its side.

I can confirm that by flipping the IB4 with the ports facing up, the message disappears.

Luckily the cables included with the cupboard mounting kit are long enough to still be able to loop around the router.
