I'm having issue configuring Swisscom Internet offering (FTTH Blue M - 1Gbit) with my Mikrotik setup. I was able to obtain the IP address through the DHCP (by setting option 60), but still no internet. I see some errors in log entries related to the invalid MAC address and missing IPv6 address. Tried also spoofing the MAC address of the Interne Box but without success. Does anybody have a more comprehensive instructions on how to configure the Mikrotik devices? Any help is appreciated.

I did all this, created the VLAN 10 interface on sfp1, configured the DHCP client to use the VLAN interface with option 60. I was getting the IP address but no internet. I have 3 Mikrotik devices managed in CAPsMAN setup, the main router was hAP AC running Router OS 7.3.1. The last link gave me an error when I tried the pairing. Will try again later or in the following days. In the meantime I configured the Internet Box 4 and it's working well. I'm missing the control the Mikrotik gives you, but I get WIFI 6 as a bonus with IB4. There are few kinks in the IB4 web UI that annoy me, but otherwise it's been smooth sailing so far. I added the WLAN-BOX2 and I'm getting good coverage where I previously used 3 Mikrotik APs (with reduced power, to be fair).

Hmm, I'll try again after the holidays. For the moment I caved in and installed the IB4 with WB2.

I'm puzzled as to why there is no official guide explaining what exactly needs to be configured in order for third party router to work. That should include the firewall settings for blue TV as well. For the vast majority of the users, the standard equipment is just fine. I've been using the IB and WB for some time now and it works very well. I'm questioning whether I should even bother messing with the third party router. Still, there will always be some users that need/want more control over their setup. It's this kind of users that are probably the best brand ambassadors. Why they have to guess the correct settings and rely on other peoples trial and error to configure their gear? One pager with all the necessary information would do.

Hi @"user109"#65426, I've been running Mikrotik gear for the past 5 years. I know how to configure it properly, I work in IT. Indeed I was previously Init7 customer. What I find missing is detailed instructions on what exactly needs to be configured, including firewall rules and admin procedures to register the device. I'm not expecting any product specific support form Swisscom. The page that mentions the usage of third party router should include all the necessary information on how to use a third party router. At the moment it just mentions the Option 60 and goes through the optics specification. It should be extended to include the firewall rules for the TV product as well as the device registration procedure that needs to be done.

Because I cannot put the IB3 in bridge mode and I want the Mikrotik router on the fiber. For instance my VPN is broken since I added the IB3 and I don't have time to debug the IB. Before I had a Swisscom approved VDSL modem in bridge mode and everything was perfect 🙂

There are no settings in the IB3 for bridge mode, only DMZ.

My routeros VPN setup doesn't work through the DMZ and I can't figure out why. I'd rather switch a bridge like I had before than debug the IB3 🙂

Also I've never been a fan of these internet provider all in boxes - they always seem to do some magic stuff even if you turn everything off.

I received the Zyxel AX7501 from init7 today (it's cheaper than on Galaxus). It worked out of the box as a router after plugging it in, adding DHCP Option 60 (which wasn't set in the default configuration) and simply visiting swisscom.ch/start.

Then I put it in bridge mode and set DHCP Option 60 on the Mikrotik corresponding DHCP client on the Ethernet interface it was connected to. Everything worked fine after visiting again swisscom.ch/start. No need to set VLAN 10, because it's actually set on the Zyxel in the bridge settings already.

Which SFP connector are you using on mikrotik? I assume it's GPON, not XGSPON, right? I've got XGSPON and RB5009, any ideas which SFP+ connector will work?

It's AIB. For XGS-PON (P2MP) you need certified modules, and there are none at the moment.

What you can do is get a certified device to act as a modem and use 10Gbit SFP+ RJ45 module to connect to it.

Thank you. I had a hope I can connect my Mikrotik via some SFP+ module directly to Swisscom network. I guess I'll order Zyxel XGS-PON-Bridge PM7300. It seems to be certified. Also in my case I don't need SFP+ RJ45, since I'm currently on Blue M plan with 1Gbit limit 🙂 but maybe in future...

For 1Gbps connection you might be able to get away with any compatible SFP module. That's if you have a P2P connection, as most 1Gbit connections are.

After few hours, mostly spent on attempts to register my router at Swisscom side, I managed to setup it. So can confirm that connecting to Swisscom via XSG-PON Zyxel PM7300 (bridge mode) works. It's too early to comment on stability and speed, but will inform community in case of any issues.

Let me know (private message) in case anyone needs assistance with Zyxel PM7300 configuration.

Essentially, it comes down to configuring VLAN10 and DHCP Option 60 on the WAN interface and then registering the WAN interface MAC address by visiting http://www.swisscom.ch/start

Connected to Zyxel PM7300 Bridge with 10G XGSPON => Default IP (192.168.0.1) with no VLAN and no DHCP, only BRIDGE enabled.

Used www.swisscom.ch/registration to register the Mikrotik CCR2004.

XGS-PON => FIBER => PM7300 => RJ45 to S+RJ45 => CCR2004 => DAC => CRS310
