Firewall on an internet-box-plus

Good morning,

I have an “internet-box-plus” at home, I activated the VPN to access from outside a Mac mini which is on LAN in the home network, and I would like to activate the firewall of my internet-box-plus, but I can’t find it.

The only place I saw an indication of it was in the IPv6 protocol, activating the latter.

Question: since I don’t use IPv6 (and I don’t plan to use it), if I activate IPv6 but without using it, and by adjusting my firewall, will it work? it protect the IPv4 connection???

THANKS

Good morning,

The IPv6 Firewall only applies to IPv6 packets. On IPv4 there are already default rules with NAT but nothing more.

You would like to filter incoming IPs for the VPN I suppose?

Good morning,

I would just like to secure IPv4 traffic. Especially since I activated the VPN, yes.

Are the default rules (where can we edit them?) effective?

Thank you so much.

There is a Linux/Netfilter firewall configured in IPv4 by default with NAT but it is not possible to personalize the rules via the WebUI or the mobile App.

If you want to have complete control I recommend that you put VPN equipment behind in DMZ mode.

Thank you for these details.

Not being good enough to understand how to configure an external Firewall, I will have to make do with the Linux Firewall installed by default, hoping that it will be sufficient…
