ASUS DSL-AC68U connection activation

Hello

I have bought a new ASUS DSL-AC68U modem router to replace Swisscom modem router that comes with Vivo L package. Installation with ASUS worked fine, modem detects DSL and makes a connection.

However, when I try to access internet I get message from Swisscom that "Your connection has not been activated yet. Please contact service provider to activate the connection. You access ID (Binding ID) IS: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx".
I called Swisscom support, but they confirm that my connection is active and there is nothing they can do.

Anyone has any idea what can be a problem?

solved already? if not: if you're not getting past the swisscom splash page, call the hotline again and insist it's not working. if the first level cannot help you he has to give your case to the 2nd level, all other responses are simply not acceptable -> 0800 800 800

Still doesn't work.

Swisscom helpline is not willing to help and their excuse is it is modem not validated by Swisscom and they are not responsible if their connection is not working with 3-rd party modems. Very costomer oriented service.

On the other side modem that comes with Vivo M package is extremly slow. Despite the 100MB speed I can not do wireless streaming of HD videos from PC to the smart TV.

Also wireless speed transfer is very slow as soon there are couple of devices connected to WIFI (and router is placed in the same room). And of course you can not get newer model from Swisscom free of charge.

Very customer oriented service: you pay for 100MB connection and get a crappy modem free of charge that you can use only to stream youtube and facebook.

You get a better modem and then it is blocked. They do everything to force you to spend another 199CHF for a new Swisscom modem.

I am strongly considering to cancel Swisscom contract and get better connection with Quickline.

At least I get a newer modem that can manage HD format streaming.

You should try to find in your documentation the page where you registered your DSL line the first time (ever). Then go through this registration process again. The webpage is the one with the swisscom colors in the background (see middle image https://www.swisscom.ch/content/dam/swisscom/en/res/hilfe/Internet/internetbox/10203080_EN.pdf ).

If it doesn't help, check the DHCP option 60 posts around on the web and see if your modem is using that (100XXX8, XXXX, ASUS).
