alwaysfaster Hello, Very happy about the download and upload speed of my today installed fiber optic modem Vivo Cas 5 star with 300/30 option. However the ping or delay time seems much worse than my previous cable internet connection with CityCable Lasuanne. What gives? It is not huge but maybe 4 times slower than before and some web pages actually take longer to load since the ping is affecting how many different images it can load. Should I wait a week before the modem is "worn in" and then start freaking out? đ Only had this up for 24 hours or less. alwaysfaster
alwaysfaster It's solved. It seems my recollection of favorable ping times was wrong. Indeed the fibre optic connection has twice better ping times (half as big) as those of the cable connection. alwaysfaster PS - also thank you swisscom for reacting so fast and helping me out! Amazing service.
suisse just FYI That's a customer forum. Swisscom usually isn't very activ. If you really need help, so call the hotline. Pick up your phone, dial 0800 800 800, and talk to some friendly staff there.
alwaysfaster Well then this must have been the exception to your rule as I was hastily contacted by phone on my personal mobile phone this morning by a swisscom technician. When asked he said he contacted me due to the forum post. I had already been in contact with swisscom regarding the speeds. I know what a phone is and how to operate one with my fingers.
