Universal connection kit duo and another WPS device (Netgear)

Hello,

I have a modem Centro Picolo and an Universal Connection Kit Duo. I would like to add another router in another room (for example a Netgear wireless router).

The scope is to have wireless with a gigabit port, and it has to be in a different room. Plus, I would like to have complete control on my router, and since I cannot find the User Guide for the Magic-Box, I cannot be sure of what I can do 🙂

You can login to the connection kit duo with username = admin and password = password and you will be asked to change the password. However to login you should know the IPAddress.

I had some problems to with the connection kit duo and with two additional uno devices until I set the IPAddress on each device to manual (Range 192.162.1.11 to 14, outside DHCP Server Range).

A wireless router is connected to one of the uno devices and working perfectly.

So then if one of the UNOs is connected to the ADSL modem, I can do anything with my router, like port forwarding, DynDNS service, etc?

Or it is better to by a wireless router + ADSL connection and put the UNO in the room where I want the Gigabit ports connected?

with the DUO connection kit you will extend your LAN to another room. one UNO to the ADSL router and the second in the other room. on the second you can connect Swisscom TV, PC's via cable or a WLAN Basisstation ("Apple Airport Extreme" in my case)

I installed the WLAN connection kit for second Swisscom TV. Alternative would be a Powerline.

Without Swisscom TV an extension of your existing WLAN is also possible without this connection kit, but the Swisscom TV box has to be connected directly to the Swisscom router or via a Powerline or to a Swisscom UNO via the WLAN connection kit.

But I doubt that a NetGear WPS device can be added to the Wireless network created by the connection kit with uses MESH technology.
