Strange text message from Swisscom

  • Hi, I received the following text message from Swisscom yesterday. It’s a rather strange text, as my account isn’t blocked. Here is the text

    Hello Pascal Arnaud,

Good that you ask here. This SMS or the link is from Swisscom. There’s nothing suspicious about it. You can also see this in the URL. Please follow the next steps to have your account unblocked again. But there are reasons for this, no account is blocked just like that. You will probably have to change your password, among other things.

I definitely don’t like people who give their first name, surname, address or even website, as has happened. I can’t help thinking that it’s, as I’ve said before, “personal advertising”, like “Open my site or google me”!
Maybe my assessment is wrong, maybe even stupid…
So the best thing is: no site, no name!

The problem is that some users here don’t even seem to know what a forum is and that it is public and the written text can be seen by the whole world out there. Many may have the feeling that they are writing directly to the support team, while others believe that it’s just a chat bot replying by posting individual words. In extreme cases, if there are entire addresses or someone becomes abusive, we mentors can also remove such posts so that they are no longer visible.
