airport time capsule

My TV Box 5 has not been working since Sunday. It always says that the TV bpx 5 has no Ethernet connection. The box is visible in the customer centre. As soon as I disconnect the Time Capsule, it works.

What’s wrong with it?

Maybe the Apple discovery protocols interfere with multicast protocol Swisscom TV uses.

Lori-77 Could be, but the interesting part is that only TV-Box is affected.

My tip is also the incorrectly assumed 2 DHCP servers, which is of particular importance for a Swisscom TV box, as unlike other devices in a LAN, they react sensitively to the presence of a Swisscom-specific Internet connection.

Werner I once had a case in the field where someone installed PCLs with an activated DHCP server with a different IP range.

I searched for the error for 3 hours because all 5 TV boxes kept reporting no internet connection after a certain time.

The TV boxes sometimes logged on to one DCHP server and sometimes to the others. It was also strange that the default lease time was set very short (30min).

I only realised this by connecting the notebook (DHCP) to the customer’s home network, where the TV boxes were also connected, because the gateway and the network area suddenly changed.

        Hello together

I would switch off the old Time Capsule from Apple. Because this is technically outdated in terms of security

I also once found one of these as a fault with a customer.

The TV box suddenly had the wrong IP.

        Greetings Lorenz
