Big BlueTV problem on LG webOS televisions.

Hello,

I’m writing to report a persistent problem with the BlueTV application on LG televisions equipped with the webOS operating system.

Currently, when switching from a third-party application to BlueTV, it is impossible to return to BlueTV correctly.

For example, you start BlueTV and then switch to Netflix, but you can’t switch back to BlueTV without quitting the application or switching off the TV.

This malfunction has a major impact on the user experience and is particularly frustrating for subscribers.

What’s more, the application was last updated on 26 May 2021. It is unacceptable that such a critical bug should persist for so long without correction.

I would therefore ask you to prioritise an update of the BlueTV application on webOS in order to resolve this problem as quickly as possible.

As a Swisscom customer, I am counting on your commitment to providing quality services and responding quickly to the needs of your users.

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your responsiveness.

Yours faithfully

With the app from the TV box, e.g. Netflix, I can go back without any problems.

It is important that the TV box is built with the Android system (Google) and is therefore also based on this existing app.

Of course, it is quite possible that an external system now has a problem.

Sorry, but this is not about a Swisscom TV box at all, but about the blue TV app directly under webOS as the operating system of LG smart TV devices 😀

I have just tested it with the blue TV app on my own LG Smart TV and can reproduce your problem.

However, it makes a difference whether you first exit the blue TV app completely with the back button before switching to the Disney app, or whether you simply press the Disney button on the remote control of the LG device while the blue TV app is running and switch directly, because the blue TV app is only blocked when switching directly without first exiting blue TV completely.

So you can bypass the blocking with a few more button presses on the LG remote, but of course it is still unpleasant and actually a bug in the blue TV app.

We can ask @RomanBl if he knows the person responsible for this within Swisscom?
