You have to save the configuration in the old box. Either locally or in Kundencenter.

When you connect the new box, things like WiFi settings, telephones, WiFi boxes are taken over. Device names, port forwardings, VPN are not automatically restored. Simply after the new box lights up continuously white again, import the config file locally or import it from the Kundencenter. After that everything is as before.

Everything should actually be taken over.

To be on the safe side, it is better to back up the configuration of the previous IB to a local PC before changing the boxes so that you can restore it if there are any transfer problems.

If you use VPN connections to the home network, it is worth taking a closer look at the details of the VPN server on the IB5 Pro after changing the IB.

It is always an advantage to save a backup on the PC beforehand.

Most of the time, when you switch from an old Internet box to the new Internet box, some things are not carried over.

It’s also good if you copy the backup back to the new Internet box after about 10 minutes for 10 seconds. Switch off and on.

A subsequent telephone test is also not bad.

These must be reloaded separately from the data backup of the last IB Box!

I have already experienced two failures in relation to the new Internet Box 5 Pro. Where can I report these so that they can be checked using our Internet Box? I am assuming that these are teething problems. Specifically, these were the following two situations, both of which were remedied by a restart:

• The settings for the “Applications” and then “VPN Server” each took over 60 seconds to load and the VPN access data from WireGuard was not visible. However, connecting via WireGuard was possible without any problems.
• The complete Internet connection including WLAN boxes failed and it was not possible to access the Internet box (no red LED). However, access from outside was possible via WireGuard, so that I received an IP address. I was then unable to reach any device in the network itself.

Great thing…. but solved in October subscription L. Connected 2 days ago (took a while) but didn’t get the Box 5? with the 3 box the w-lan is not exactly extremely fast, problem: where the PC is located there is no connection for fibre optics or even a telephone connection…. and 149.– Fr is ok, but if you’ve been waiting so long an info that you have to buy the box separately would have been helpful…. since I’ve only had fibre optics for 2 days anyway

So with the WLAN from the IB3 or IB5, there shouldn’t be any major differences under normal circumstances.

How did you recognise that there is a problem with the WLAN, it is important whether the IB3 or IB5 if there are more than two lightweight walls or more than one deck in between, there will always be a problem with the 5GHz WLAN and the 2.4GHz is better.

The WLAN of the IB3 and IB5pro is relatively identical, except that Wifi7 is available (only useful for end devices that also support Wifi7) and that the 6 GHz band is also used. The transmission power is regulated by law and, if you have not reduced the power in the WEB GUI, is at maximum.

I bet that the “WLAN” problems are actually completely different problems. But you would have to know what the problem is. WLAN is not good, doesn’t really help.

If it’s a concrete wall, the WLAN signal may already be attenuated.

I myself have a WLAN-Box 3 in the basement through a reinforced concrete ceiling to the IB3 680/150Mbit/s (max. value of my external Internet connection), distance 2m.

Yes, it’s partly the wall. My mainboard has wifi7. My neighbour has the same problem, but with his new ib5 the speed is a good 30% faster…
