The Prepaid Plus from Swisscom is actually only interesting if you also have a Swisscom landline internet subscription, because only then will you get the first 500 MB with higher speed for free with the Plus.

For infrequent users with mobile data consumption set to minimal, this 500 MB/month is actually enough.

If you don’t have a Swisscom landline Internet subscription for the Prepaid Plus “gift-carrying” plan, but you do have a dual-SIM capable cell phone, then you’re better off buying a 0.4 flat rate from Digital Republic or just for the mobile data from Galaxus, and are at least three times faster than Swisscom at a slightly lower price of CHF 4/month.

If this isn’t enough, then simply try the next higher bit rate for CHF 10/month for a month, which will certainly be enough for every standard mobile need.

If you have an internet subscription with Swisscom, you get 500MB of data (full speed) for free every month for Prepaid Plus. You obviously don’t have this because your prepaid subscription is apparently not “stored” correctly in the Kundencenter. Call the hotline and tell them to merge your prepaid. Then you automatically have 500MB of data for free every month, but this only applies with a Prepaid Plus.

Have you bought a data package and Safari still doesn’t work? Then something is wrong on your device. Your statement that apps work doesn’t mean anything. Not all apps require a data connection to work. How old is this iPhone? Is everything up to date (apps, software)? Did you restart?

Am I understanding this correctly, only Safari bugs? But other apps work. Important, Safari is also an app.
And apps it is important that you try an app that requires internet. For example SBB, SRF Meteo, or MySwisscom.

I know that it was once possible (certainly before iOS 18) to block individual apps from accessing mobile data.

Below you will see a list of all the apps installed on your iPhone. By default all buttons are green. This means that all apps are allowed to access the mobile network. For the reasons mentioned above, this does not always make sense.

I would check whether Safari is possibly blocked.

If the problem persists and only occurs on certain websites or webpages, check whether Private Relay is enabled. You can temporarily deactivate “Private Relay” in the iCloud settings](https://support.apple.com/de-ch/102022). If Safari continues to not load websites and you’ve tried all of the troubleshooting steps above, contact the website developer for further assistance.

Maybe try that too. Otherwise, just download an alternative browser such as Brave, Chrome or Firefox in the App Store (via WiFi). And test it with that.

Hello, can someone help me. I’ve had an iPhone with prepaid for a long time and I get a 500 MB data package. That always worked great. Unfortunately this no longer works; if I don’t have WiFi, the internet no longer works. I’ve restarted the phone several times. That’s no use either. Have any of you had this problem and how were you able to solve it?

But you already know that the basic XS is a subscription. Costs you 29.90 per month!!! Before you only had prepaid. The point was that you get 500MB of data with your Prepaid Plus. Did you say that on the hotline? I find it very questionable that they talked you into a subscription!

Salt always has good offers and not just with short terms for the offers.

N.B. Your price quote is probably no longer valid because there are even cheaper subscriptions available.

You shouldn’t change anywhere spontaneously, but first become aware of your own needs.

You started with a prepaid Plus for CHF 5/month, and you were apparently already happy with it, even without the additional 500 MB higher speed that was available for free, except for the unresolved Safari problem, which has absolutely nothing to do with your data subscription had to do.

Yes, call tomorrow… If you say you only need your cell phone occasionally, prepaid is always the cheapest option. Every subscription is too expensive. Hopefully you can still withdraw from the contract.

But strange, the 1.5GB is already gone? Take a look at the data consumption on your mobile phone… I think something is drawing a lot of data from you. But also shows that the data connection is working. Nevertheless… This subscription is not suitable for your use!!
