So steuerst du deine Smart-Home-Geräte über den TV

How to control your smart home devices with the TV

With your TV-Box 5, you can easily control your smart devices without leaving your seat. Whether it’s dimming the lights, turning down the music or switching off the vacuum cleaner – with voice control, your devices are at your command. Here’s how it works.

Do you have smart lights, speakers or other smart devices at home, such as a robot vacuum? These can be controlled easily via voice commands to your TV-Box 5. This is how it works:

1. Install smart devices in the Google Home app

Download the Google Home app on your Android device, iPhone or iPad and configure your smart home devices.

2. Activate Google Assistant on blue TV
  1. Open the system settings > “Google settings” > “Accounts & sign-in”.
  2. Sign in with the same Google account as the one stored on your smart home products.
  3. Activate Google Assistant in “Google settings” > “Device settings”.
3. Control smart devices with voice commands

Press the coloured Google Assistant button at the top left of the remote control and say your voice command. This is how you control your smart devices – or open an app, change the channel or find answers to questions.

With Swisscom Voice Control, you can continue to search for content on blue TV or control the TV-Box – e.g. adjust the volume, make recordings or open the TV Guide. To activate, simply press the microphone button on the blue TV remote control.

Searching for weather, traffic, etc. using voice control works well.

But I have never tested whether this works for the MyStrom devices.

Interesting article. 😉

I don’t like voice control at all. When I’m engrossed in a nice movie or enjoying music, I don’t want to disturb the atmosphere by talking to the plastic bully. Isn’t there an app that can solve all this using the remote control buttons? Such as B. hue shortcuts, I control my favorite light scenes via unused buttons and the rest via a menu. There has to be something like that for Google Home & Co. too.
