I have just launched my Swisscom box (new installation), and it is being stuck on “the latest operating system is being loaded”. Still at 0% after 45 minutes

Hi,

is there a way we can just not accept any Google related terms and conditions? We are a Swisscom customer and wish not to enroll in any Google services.

best,

julien

@Deleidei56 No, it is mandatory, but you don’t need to use Google Playstore if you don’t want to download Apps, then the Box works as today. Btw the existing Software is also Android (an open version), nothing different.

only if a Google account is created and/or linked, but this remains optional, not obligatory.

I have just uploaded today.

Prior the update I could go into Youtube and we could choose between my profile and my son’s.

After the update, I can only see my profile in You tube and if I try to add my so’s I keep receiving a compatibility issue.

How can I overcome this issue?

Unclear and vague instructions! Could have been simplified for idiots like me! Any hotline to call? Merci

@Marsi21

the problem with YouTube should not be linked to the update…

Which TV-Box model has been updated?

I don’t have anything good to say about this update. It rebooted while I was watching something, so it was all certainly working before, and now won’t recognise my remote control. I rebooted, did a factory reset from the app, etc, multiple times, according to the instructions, and eventually called because there was nothing else to do.

Person on the phone told me to do the exact same things I had already done, and then seemed to think it was the network, because he couldn’t see the TV box behind my internet box, and couldn’t understand me when I said it was NATed and why that would affect his ability to see alllll the devices on my network.

(Hint: that is WHY everything is behind a second router, but the fact that there was functioning pass-through for the TV box until the second it updated, and the problem was literally between the TV-box, which was able to be remotely updated over the network BY SWISSCOM moments earlier, and the remote control, lying next to it, did not seem to be important to him.)

I gave up. I’ll try again on the phone tomorrow, but honestly, if this happens again, I’ll just cancel my subscription.

By the way, if this happens to you:

- Factory reset the box

- Do NOT try to connect remote - let the countdown go to 0 (it will stay there for about 30 secs)

- Follow screen instructions once screen changes (press 1 and 3 for 5 seconds til the remote LED turns off)

- then reboot by unplugging and replugging your TV box

- NOW, after it boots again, when prompted, try to follow instructions connecting remote by repeatedly pressing OK

With any luck, you will see a little loading logo and then your TV will return.

Please make sure that the internet at home works normally and is not interrupted, I am no longer satisfied and hope that I don’t have to change providers, thank you

FG

@Mauhentiom48 You are in the wrong forum, this is the English language one and your post has nothing to do with the topic, this is not Swisscom, but a customer help customer forum, have you already got the router rebooted or did a reset? Have you installed any power lines, if so remove them and try again (these things cause problems at some point).

If none of that helps, maybe call the hotline 0800 800800 and they can check the line.

Sounds complicated. Not sure I can do this update.

@Fuguyi45 It is easier as it sound, actually you will be guided the first you start the box after the update (this happen automatically).

The Google system is very bad honestly in all the smart deviced and tvs I had Google, I always have and had problems. You could have kept your own system rather than moving to Google.

@Andre07 You had Android (Google) also before, possibly you didn’t know this, if you had no problems then, you won’t have problem in the future.

Not really, I don’t know what you mean, every device is different. Google TV is slow, laggy and has long loading times. The box was better off Google.

@Andre07 We don’t talk about Google TV, we talk about Blue TV from Swisscom (this has nothing to do with Google TV), which is operated onAndroid on the existing Swisscom 21 Box, and will be operated after the update (on the Swisscom 21 Box), it is operated exactly in the same way as before. The only difference is, that you can download Apps from the Google Play store which was earlier not possible. I have the update since half a year, as a tester, and it is be no means slower as before. I suspect you’re confusing something. This is only about Swisscom Box 21 and they are not different one to the other. You don’t need to use the Google Playstore at all, but the operating system was Android before (an open version) and it is now, so there is no real difference!
