“Low” sync speed and high SNR

  • Hello everyone

    According to the availability check, my Anschluss should have the following maximum values:

    Download: 200Mbit/s
    Upload: 40 Mbit/s

    I have achieved these values before. Net 205 / 32 Mbit/s. However, I am currently still achieving 138/15 Mbit/s despite high SNR values of 17/18 dB.

    In my opinion, FEC and CRC are also harmless.

    Shouldn’t the synchronization speed automatically adjust upwards again?

    Here are the values of the IB3. Connection type is g.fast.

      Hello Roger

      Thank you for the super quick response. You can remove the stabilization at any time.

    @Wiezegoch19

    So for g.fast these are very high values for the signal-to-noise ratio and in my opinion they should be better.

    Maybe @Roger G can say something about this?

    @Wiezegoch19 Situation has been like this since Sept 23, Anschluss is highly stabilized due to previous disruptions. Since then it has even dropped down to vectoring. That’s why it hasn’t been automated yet. optimized.

    I can clean up the high stabilization. The processes would then intervene if things were not going well. Just tell me when I can trigger this and there will be a 1 minute interruption.

    In the past, your g.Fast-Anschluss was strongly stabilized due to disturbances, and since prevention is always better than repeated healing, there are still two questions:

    - Do you have a PowerLine in use?

    - Do you have several telephone sockets connected at the same time?

    @Werner

    No, neither is the case. The installation has probably been untouched for 5 years and has always worked well.

    Since I still have a 5G booster in use, I didn’t notice it. But I keep having problems with this because it loses the connection to the IB3 and I have to reset it so that it connects again. But I think these must be two different problems.

    I rather suspect the IB3, as it completely says goodbye once or twice a year. The LEDs then no longer light up and I no longer have a connection to the box. I then have to disconnect it from the power for 2-3 minutes so that I can start it again.

    Thanks for your feedback.

    I’m a little irritated about the topic of Internet-Booster.

    Until now I actually thought that the booster with a g,Fast-Anschluss was not supported by Swisscom at all, or that it would automatically no longer be supplied via mobile communications when switching from VDSL2 to g.Fast.

    @WalterB: You had exactly this topic yourself, and maybe you also know the current status of the topic g.Fast in combination with Internet booster?

    Done,… and the sync bandwidth is good. But there’s something wrong with the upstream. We have to watch. Ev. Reboot the router using the power button. If everything is ok, you can connect the booster again on the weekend. Let’s see if something has happened and the booster can deliver additional power.

    You can now hope that this good speed stays that way. 👍

    **N.B. are you sure it says “g.fast”?

    Hello

    Hope you can help or enlighten me.

    We have been using Internet M at home for 5 years. Until 4 weeks ago, we had 325/70 Mbits and even more on our Anschluss without any problems.

    Then we used Powerline and there were repeated internet interruptions. After researching that this led to the failure, we removed the powerline adapters. Since then we have achieved a maximum speed of 160/40 Mbits. Even a call to the service line didn’t help.
    what else can you do?

    @Baholar47 Since when have the PLC been gone?

    Your Anschluss is almost maximally stabilized and will recover for the first time after 60 days if everything is ok with the line. The last problem (fiddling with the DSL cable without unplugging the router??) was only around 50 days ago. This is an auto. Process where the hotline may not (should not) intervene. You can’t just completely remove the stabilization because you don’t know whether the disruptions will come back.
