Where did you connect the Sennheiser station with audio since the TV-Box/5 no longer has an audio connection?

My headphones are connected to the Samsung TV via Bluetooth and I regulate the volume using the TV-Box because the Samsung TV deactivates its own speaker regulation when external headphones are used.

Have you set “Audio and Sound” to stereo in the TV-Box setting.

In any case, I don’t know that there has been a change to the predecessor TV-Box in the TV-Box/5, only that the audio output is now missing in the TV-Box and is only transmitted via the HDMI cable.

Now if someone wants an independent sound output they have to use an adapter.

E.g. [https://www.apfelkiste.ch/hdmi-audio-kovnerter-adapter-auf-4k-hdmi-spdif-toslink-3-5mm-klinke.html](https://www.apfelkiste.ch/hdmi- audio-kovnerter-adapter-to-4k-hdmi-spdif-toslink-3-5mm-jack.html)

Wait a moment:
The remote control controls the volume of the TV (if set that way).

The adapter won’t do anything because it can’t be controlled at all, right?

Please keep us updated here, I’m excited to see if the plan works.

Can you please also do the HDCP check in the TV-Box settings once with and once without the converter? I’m wondering if this breaks the “copy protection chain”. If so, UHD / HDR is omitted.

Since I’ve been using the “Appelkisten converter” for a long time, here are two screenshots (HDR & UHD).

This converter does not eliminate copy protection, nor does HDR & UHD…

    TV is a “Samsung Odyssey G7 (G70B, 28”), is my office part… 😉

I have another converter in the WZ:

StarTech HDMI Audio Extractor - buy from digitec

Also a very good part…since my DAB/Internet radio “only” has chinch.

With this converter (together with a TV Samsung KS7580, model 2016) there are no problems with UDR & UHD…

THANKS for testing! I’m a little further away from TV support now, but I’m always interested in edge cases like this 😉

If I connect the headphones to the TV-Box/5 as a test, I can independently regulate the TV volume on the Samsung, but the master always remains the TV-Box in the “Stereo” setting.

In addition, I can also regulate the volume on the Bluetooth headphones, but here too the master is always the TV-Box.

I don’t know anything else about the “Stereo” setting on the TV-Box.

Sounds promising, but what does “connect headphones to TV-Box” mean exactly? the headphones depend on the opt. Connection to Samsung TV. If the master remains the TV-Box, I can’t adjust the volume on the headphones when the TV is turned down, it immediately beeps in the headphones, which means the highest volume has been reached.

You can connect Bluetooth headphones directly to the TV-Box via Bluetooth.

Or with the adapter via a stereo sound cable.

The thing is, the sound on the headphones cannot be controlled independently of the TV. TV loud, headphones loud and vice versa. Would have been an elegant solution!
