@Albatros2

You write that you received the IB4 as a test subject. This may also be a box with a WLAN chipset that is not yet final. Anyway, you can only find out if you replace the IB4. If it’s still under warranty, this shouldn’t be a problem.

@user109 Have you ever managed ipv4/6 dual stack with the AX7501? I don’t get an ipv6 address…

@Albatros2 I just linked something about the ipv4/6 dual stack from the forum for you, at home I only have the IB4 running without IPv6. I don’t own an AX7501, sorry.

@gnome2018 I had the Zyxel in operation with the Ip4only setting for a long time. When I read the topic here with native IPV6, I tried the IP46 dual stack mode in the broadband settings.

I then tried your firmware and even the newer one from the zyxel ftp server in the Swisscom folder. But no matter which device: no Internet via ipv6 and no ping response either.

I even set up the IB4 to check whether ipv6 was active there and it was and the devices worked over ipv6.

I read through the points in your blog and didn’t find any differences, except that I didn’t use the router as a bridge, but directly.

Since the guest WiFi on the ib4 now seems to be working, I don’t see any added value for the Zyxel at the moment.

  • hed likes that.

Then you have set something wrong, then I ask you for print screens.

As I said, it has to work but of course you can throw in the towel 😄 I can understand that.

Today the IB4’s wifi problem annoyed me for the last time!

So I put the AX7501 back into operation and thanks to the new C3.0 firmware, ipv6 now works for me too! Hurray!

The guest WiFi has new bugs on the Zyxel AX7501: No clean VLAN / firewall separation…

Do you use the guest WiFi of the Internet box and the Zyxel part in a router cascade, or do you have the Zyxel as the only router directly on the fiber optic? Your wording suggests that there is a certain separation, but not a clean one. Can you describe this in a little more detail?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Correctly. AX7501-B1 as some device with V5.17(ABPC.4)D0. Every firmware has its own bugs. I haven’t received a newer FW.

To be on the safe side, I now use the following solution for the guest WiFi with another device on a LAN port… (temp solution): https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/guestwifi/guestwifi\ _dumbap

Reminds me vividly of my last experience with this manufacturer. It’s been many years and I’ve stayed away from Zyxel ever since.

Well, with this quite experimental guest WiFi, the question arises, why don’t you just use the Internet box provided by Swisscom? Everything works out of the box with good performance, and bugs are also very rare…

Is still a purchase device. It’s been going relatively well so far and that’s why I didn’t want to swap. Now waiting for the upcoming Fritzbox, but I thought the information might be there. interesting for other users.

Thanks for the help! 🙂
