Channel 1 Russia has been unavailable for weeks

  • Hello, does anyone know why the station “Channel 1 Russia” has been unavailable for a few weeks now? Only one error message is always displayed. Every now and then it comes back, sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes it is available for a longer period of time

    but not right now

    • Hallo zusammen

@WalterB This is the European version of the first Russian television program (первий канал) state-owned, of course, like RTR Planeta and the Swisscom-listed children’s channel Karusel, only the three Russian channels in the Russia package come from Germany

Yes, I would have trouble now if it wasn’t a neutral channel and was switched on!! 😟

You could philosophize and discuss for days about whether there are any neutral media or neutral organizations or neutral states.

I have a completely different guess. The 3 channels are broadcast on the Express satellite 14 degrees East. It’s currently raining in Olten. 2 possibilities: either the transmission power of the satellite on the Swisscom roof is not sufficient in bad weather or the satellite was not aimed 100% cleanly (which I think is less likely.)

@Stonck13 At least in the last 24 hours (I tried to trace) the Peruvian channel and carousel always seem to be there at the same time and not available, but could that be due to the rain? RTR doesn’t cause any problems.

    Simply a different transponder

Let’s see if we have a broadcast outage between 10 p.m. and midnight this evening. The weather hasn’t been good in Olten in the last few days.

Over years ago the signal was taken from Eutelsat 13 East.

It can only be the two options that the broadcasters have, such as image interference on satellite in bad weather.

Report it or, best of all, ask Swisscom. They can definitely do something on Monday.

I’ll keep an eye on it over the next 24 hours but like I said, I stand by my opinion. I watched the station for 15 minutes and it ran without any problems. Rain/snow is forecast in Olten tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If reception is interrupted, it is clear what the problem is.

@Stonck13 I’ve now followed it for both channels, they always drop out at the same time, it’s probably really due to the weather. 👍 or the encoder is having problems @ThomasS, could you please take a look at something internally. Спасибо

    Hi everyone,

my colleagues looked at it. The faults are on the SAT from the source, so unfortunately you cannot fix the fault yourself. The station will continue to be monitored.
