Save time with Voice Control from blue TV

The popcorn has popped, and the evening’s viewing can get under way. Perfect. Find out how to access your chosen content more quickly with Voice Control.  

1. Search for your favourite film

Instead of typing the individual letters, simply tell Voice Control what you want to watch. Press and hold the microphone button on your remote control while you give the command or ask your question. You can also activate the Swisscom Box directly by saying “Hey Swisscom”. You don’t need to visit the search page. Simply search from wherever you are.

  • Voice command: “Search Top Gun Maverick”
  • Even faster: “Top Gun Maverick”
  • Possible with films, series, TV programmes and actors

If you give the exact title of the film, you will go straight to the film details. Simply press ‘Play’ and enjoy.

2. Binge watch series

Has that cliffhanger ending got you desperate for more? Don’t wait for the credits to finish! Just tell Voice Control that the evening isn’t over yet.

  • Voice command: “Play next episode”
  • Even faster: “Next episode”
  • Possible with most series on blue+, blue Video and recordings, providing that the next episode is available

3. Stream films or series

Netflix, Prime Video or just YouTube? Whichever app you want to stream, use Voice Control shortcut.

  • Voice command: “Open Netflix”
  • Even faster: “Netflix”
  • Possible with all apps on blue TV

4. Search for films by genre

Whether you love comedies, weepies, horror or action, Voice Control will find the perfect film for you.

  • Voice command: “I want to watch a comedy”
  • Even faster with: “Comedies”
  • Possible with comedies, romance, fantasy, thrillers and concerts, etc.

Pro tip:

If you have a Swisscom Box 21 and have activated HDMI-CEC, then you can use these voice commands even when the blue TV box and your TV are switched off.

  • “Search yoga videos on YouTube”
  • “Switch to SRF 1”
  • “Show me a romance”

Unfortunately, it doesn’t say anywhere that you have to press the mic button on the remote control for these voice commands - unless you have the Swisscom Box with the fabric cover….

Very interesting! And practical.

Unfortunately, there is an application that cannot be opened this way:

The Arte Tv app in French. (I’m not talking about the TV Arte channel but about the app!).

And since we can’t put it in the favorite applications, it would be very practical if we could call it by voice command.

I consider the mixing of the instructions in Section 1 between the SC-Box and the current Box 21 to be unfortunate. The layman doesn’t know which box he owns. I would leave out the “Hey Swisscom” topic entirely, especially since the SC box is no longer sold.

@CorinaS cool description, makes you want to use this feature a little more again!

In my opinion, the “mixing” is not tragic, because ultimately all models are “Swisscom TV boxes”. The one that can be addressed directly with “Hey Swisscom” is simply the “willow kitten” or the one with the gray fabric cover. I think this is a great feature and there are thousands of the boxes in our living rooms. I wouldn’t just keep that quiet 😉

The “willow catkin” does not necessarily have to be kept secret, but if it is mentioned, it must be clearly and clearly separated in the description, if necessary even with a picture of the respective box.

However, if the market share of the “willow kitten” is not very high, it can be omitted here to simplify things.
