@Grenouille

This doesn’t change the fact that the channels have to finance themselves, and so do streaming, they don’t do that for free. So look at the development of DAZN in Germany, prices have suddenly doubled. Those who do not want private television can waive it, the 6.90 CHF is optional, it is not automatically added. Moreover, it is possible to skip advertising if you schedule the recording of a program in advance, as in the past with the VCR, and watch the program later.

Serafe and Replay advertising have nothing to do with each other.

RTL and SAT1 do not receive Swiss taxes and if French channels like RTL9 or W6 were to be added, they would receive nothing either.

@Gaeilgeoir

I noted that for recordings you will still have the 7s advertisement at the beginning and in fast forward.

It is not specified for the pauses, but as we will have it live and in replay, it would surprise me if we escape it with the pauses in the recordings.

@DanielD I noticed that this was the case for the recordings I made in the past, i.e. via replay. I haven’t seen it for recordings scheduled in the future. Some things still didn’t work as they should have during the test, I hope I’m right 😀. We’ll see.

Question of catching up financially. In France, it is also abolished. Good luck I think given how fed up I am.

It would have been 1× 7 sec but what if every time you move forward?! I suppose, if there was advertising at that time, otherwise not?

But shows like Quotidien cannot be watched live with 7 minutes of advertising, we won’t watch at all anymore….

Really anything, the customer is really more king. A puppet decision

It will even go further.

Abandoning TV to only use streaming. Even if it means watching the SSR newspaper from their sites on a delayed basis.

They will just lose customers.

Advertising has become so invasive that we already have it on our smartphones quite a bit.

Besides, message to the publicist, I boycott any product that breaks my bur… This is the only counter-offensive for these invaders.

Personally I find this completely abusive, already that I pay the license fee with Serafe and with a subscription with swisscom of 204.60 (tv/internet L/ mobile M) I don’t see why I should have to pay a certain montant in addition to be able to skip the advertising on a recording.

Personally when I watch live TV and there is advertising or I skip or I go to do something else during that time, but having to pay to not have advertising on a replay is completely absurd or even stupid because we could record shows before and move forward so as not to see the advertising (already with VHS and then with the box) that’s because advertising is/was more than painful for most people.

For me this amounts to a double tax for consumers (Serafe + additional costs of 6.90 francs/month to be able to view the recordings) it is not up to users to pay for advertising which stuffs everyone up given the high cost of subscriptions at the various market players in Switzerland, but for the channels to assume the costs that they supposedly lose and who receive aid with the license fee and with the advertisements that they put in the series and films which never command the hour noted.

Because during a recording you have to configure it between 5 and 10 min. before and after to have everything (film/series/doc etc.)

@Heuchiotul30 Oh holy Jesus, all this has nothing to do with Serafe, it’s about the 19 private German-speaking channels that receive nothing from the Serafe license. If you don’t look at them it doesn’t change anything for you, is it that hard to understand? Or maybe I’m wrong and I didn’t know that there were so many fans of SAT1, PRO7 or RTL in French-speaking Switzerland.

“If you don’t look at them, it doesn’t change anything for you.”

Not sure, it’s opening Pandora’s box, it starts with German channels then the others will do the same.

I’m telling you my note that it’s not going to stop there.

Thank you for your response regarding Serafe, but I recently read that the RTS was strongly considering joining this movement.

So already the advertisements bother a large part of the population, if they put in place the same system I do not find this normal the whole intérêt on replay is precisely to avoid these unwanted advertisements and to zap them as when the we used a video recorder.

Moreover, at the time of VHS it was enough to enter a code and the recording would begin at the start of the film/series etc., the blue tells us that by paying extra the recordings would start without the ads so this is possible for a long time; but we do not have access to it and must schedule the recordings to be sure to have everything 5/10 minutes before and if late 30/1 hour after the end.

I find this a bit abusive…

Sincerely

  • PTT likes that.

Hello,

It’s true that the grass is greener elsewhere, especially since it’s the same thing with other operators. See more expensive at Sunrise (7.90.-)

Note that Salt will also join the same Replay system (no more Replay for them at 3.95.-)

@Anonym

What does Swisscom see in this? It would be good to think before writing nonsense here on the forum thank you.
All suppliers are affected with the same price increases**.

It is the television channels who decided on this principle, avoided writing here without thinking.

Disagree with the reflection.

“What does Swisscom have to do with this?”

Not refusing the thing.

He could also, at the price it costs, include it in the current replay package which did not give, just like the price of the channels.

Small additional parenthesis. I find the number of German language channels discriminatory compared to other national languages for the same price.
