Since Billag is over, they’ve always found something new to rip us off anyway, the problem is, this increase doesn’t come at the right time, because everything gets expensive, only the wages stay low, advertising doesn’t bother me, what bothers me the most is I watch a film A part is always shortened, so that you never see the whole film, and we already have a price for replay that you pay, but it’s hidden, but as I said, I’m not paying for it, and I will I’ll probably switch to Sunrise, not because of the replay, but the packages are cheaper and the few channels I have here and not on Sunrise, where I don’t ever watch, I get off better with the lower subscription and could even afford replay without advertising “Swisscom is still too lax with the packages they put together
This is just making money again. 6.90 per month is almost 84 CHF per year multiplied by x million customers and the deficit due to customers switching to the competition is no longer that big. If it is technically possible to skip this forced advertising, why is it not offered as customer service but instead impose more costs on the customer? Isn’t it enough that you pay extremely more for fuel, electricity and food? Does it have to be the case with television too? It’s a shame Swisskom - it would have been a nice treat for your customers.

You don’t have to pay anymore. Nobody is forced to subscribe to Replay Comfort.

That’s right, I’m not being forced. But I should pay for something that I already had. Namely the possibility of watching at a slightly delayed time and skipping the advertising.
Correct.
And this only in Switzerland 😉

The third option is not mentioned in that email from Swisscom:
What can you do?
1. Use Replay TV now with short advertisements when fast-forwarding on some channels and in recordings. Live breaks now with advertising instead of still images.
2. For even more convenient Replay TV, you can choose the “Replay Comfort” option for 6.90/month. subscribe. This allows you to skip entire blocks of advertising at once.
3. Kick the relevant channels from your personal channel list. Then it takes care of itself.

Hello @ofaessler
Swisscom has had to pay the CHF 2 levy for a long time. The fact that she hasn’t (yet) charged the customer for this doesn’t mean that the Betrag is included in the subscription.
According to the leaflet, there are apparently 2 different GT tariffs:
- for customers without a Comfort subscription who would avoid AD channels or at best tolerate replay advertising, CHF 2 continues;
- and now for customers who subscribe to Replay Comfort CHF 7.
Comfort subscribers have to pay almost the entire tariff of CHF 7. Not only the added value of CHF 5 to suppress replay advertising, but also the CHF 2 basic part, which remains free for other customers (I hope). Not exactly fair.
And: ‘included in the subscription’.
The same thing went through my head too. Here’s what I wanted to reply to the email (which of course isn’t possible because there’s no reply):
Hello Thomas Buschor
Thank you for the information.
You forgot to mention a third option under “What can you do”: cancel your subscription with Swisscom (and any other IPTV provider) and only stream.
Which I probably will.Kind regards
Probably because I first want to see how much it annoys me. Since the interim advertising on YouTube is really annoying me, I’ll probably stick with the termination. We customers have had to accept a lot of service losses over the last two years. At some point, with all understanding and patience, it’s enough.
You’re right, but given the prices we customers are already paying, Swisscom could have certainly acted differently. She could have left the subscription prices as they are now for those who want Reply Comfort (with the next subscription changes the prices will be hiddenly increased anyway, as always and with all providers) and for those who don’t care about advertising , with the subscription prices down by CHF 7.–, possibly also CHF 10.–. I’m sure many customers would have accepted the offer.
Swisscom was already more expensive than other providers. But I’ve been happy with the performance so far. I wanted a Swiss provider and not… well. I’m not advertising here now. But- as was said here. Once is enough! I actually expected Swisscom to continue to provide this service free of charge for loyal customers. Whether I watch advertising or (definitely) not, Swisscom earns absolutely nothing from it. Consequently, it is nothing other than a fee increase. Simply changing an existing contract unilaterally is more than questionable in any case. I don’t accept that. Either let them talk to you, or… BYE!
Losses because subscribers don’t watch the advertising!?!?! I’M SORRY, WHAT?!?! None of the subscribers asked for these advertising contracts. The providers concluded this, even though it was clear from the start that no one wanted that. Why else was there an option to skip the ads? First lure people with this option and then charge fees for it. This is unacceptable and anti-customer. Especially because advertising is becoming more and more absurd and mendacious. Make those who want this advertising pay. Then it’s true
Didn’t you pay extra for Replay before? That means you’re still paying for it and now you’re paying even more. Which is simple, you actually pay an amount for Replay anyway, even if you pay with advertising, that’s just not really detailed, stated . What do you pay? Replay with advertising? Replay without ads? No replay is associated with advertising anyway, what do you get in return? If you have to watch the advertising?
Because we have to watch commercial breaks anyway, so replay doesn’t help, with direct live broadcasts you can’t fast forward only if you watch it later, so there’s no point in anything anymore.
People can have different opinions.
But how individuals here really have their cognitive abilities at absolutely zero is frightening. Is this the reflection of our society today? Has it always been like this or does it just show up on platforms like this?
All argumentation is of no use. I have to unsubscribe from this threat…

It’s everywhere. Swisscom currently has the most customers in Switzerland, as can be seen from the postings in this thread.
Unfortunately, too many people have no insight into how the business model of junk advertising broadcasters works.
