Who pays for the installation of the fiber optic connection box in the apartment?

  • We want to use fiber optics in a new apartment in 8001 Zurich. There is already fiber optics in the house - but not yet in the apartment on the top floor. Who will cover the costs of expanding the house? Until now, UPC was used in the apartment without fiber optics. Thanks.

    • Usually the provider. In Zurich, construction was done in such a way that fiber optics were installed in the house and when the first person ordered, all the apartments were opened up. I don’t assume that the house hasn’t been developed yet. Therefore either a. Your apartment has been forgotten or the apartment was only built after the general expansion with FTTH.

When you enter your address into the checker, what do you see?

If it says fiberglass, just order it. The rest should then happen automatically.

@intecom54 Was the same for me 4 years ago as for you. When the contract was signed, I was moved into my apartment during the notice period and taken over by Swisscom. It was also previously reported to two neighboring parties in the same house, then the homeowner was informed that I was no longer using UPC and since then I have also been saving on cable fees the additional costs 😀.

Agus fágaimíd siúd mar atá sé

There are very few areas in Switzerland where this is regulated. Or the initial development of the area is over and everyone who still wants FTTH afterwards has to pay themselves.
