@WalterB and hed:

Thanks for your postings. As mentioned, I don’t know Swisscom Smarthome (I use JBMedia) and thought the command was sent from the Swisscom Box IP2000. That’s why I assume it can’t send the command because it has no power.

The detour via MyStrom is not necessary:

The TV box can be switched on via the home app and this can also be done as a “time rule” at a specific time.

Unfortunately, the home app currently only supports switching on/off, switching and changing the volume.

Channel selection or something similar will probably only be possible if many people request it using the appropriate form.

If it is important that the wake-up function also works reliably, I would personally find operation via the Home App too unsafe for fundamental availability reasons, because there are simply too many individual components, including a backend server at Swisscom, which have to interlock at exactly the switching time .

At least before important appointments, I wouldn’t rely solely on an alarm clock of this type.

@Werner

You shouldn’t just rely on an alarm clock for important appointments. My wake-up concept is three-stage:

Time x: Music from the radio with mech. Timer

x + 5 minutes: watch alarm

x + 10 minutes: Smartphone with the ugliest and loudest alarm tone

My wake-up concept looks like this:

  • x-10: ten minutes before the actual wake-up time, the light slowly turns on via Philips Hue.
  • x: Then the iPhone or Apple Watch wakes me up (vibration) when I have it on
  • x: In addition, the radio starts via Sonos in the bedroom and bathroom for 15 minutes.
  • x+15: Sonos radio in the dining room/kitchen starts for breakfast, also for 15 minutes

    The safest thing that works even when there is no electricity and otherwise requires almost no energy and wakes you from the deepest sleep.

    As they say, you have to have a little fun.

    What a shame, it would be relatively simple. I would like to be woken up tomorrow from the Federal Palace and in color. Would be a good function. Why not.
