Yes, it is entirely feasible, the only condition is that it must be connected by a Lan cable to your IB4. The red LED of the IB3 will be permanently active as it searches for the direct connection to the Internet. This does not bother you to broadcast the Internet by connecting it by cable or Wi-Fi.
An important point before connecting you must change the IB3 web page to the one you want to extend your network. Example IB4 in 192.168.1.1 & IB3 in 192.168.1.2 to avoid the Internet box address conflict.
To carry out this change of address on the IB3 you must connect it with the Lan cable to a PC. Once the operation is successful, you can connect it to your new internet box 4 and that’s it. Your old box will serve as a network extension.
I have this configuration at home with an ib3 with an ib2 tip top
