@Gaeilgeoir Lilo TV had been running in the background for a long time (several months), the others like Schlagerparadies HD had been running for almost 2 weeks.
@roku73 I know, I was surprised that you don’t already have this infomercial channel with you for a long time, otherwise you’ll get there faster 🙃. Now there is an advertisement for Henk van Daam, should you know him?😂😂😂

Hello @roku73
Yes, I can see what you wrote there and I have old recordings from 3+ HD which have 5.1 sound.
I have now forwarded this matter internally to colleagues who can now check whether the sound signal is coming from the transmitter or whether there is still an issue with Swisscom.
But if the sound signal comes from the transmitter like this, then we at Swisscom can’t do anything about it…
I’m curious as to why this is the case…
LG
@UrsSch Thanks for the clarification.
One more question about that.
Blue Sport does something similar. The games in the SD/HD version always run in Dolby 2.0, and if the game also runs on a UHD channel, it is in Dolby 5.1.
For the CL games on 3+, when the UHD version did not yet exist, the game was played on Blue Sport in Dolby 2.0 and on 3+ HD (in parallel as a free TV game) in Dolby 5.1. Also strange or not?
Hello @roku73
As far as Blue Sport HD and UHD are concerned, it’s not strange, that’s how they’re actually ordered and produced.
So 2.0 for HD and 5.1 for UHD.
But I can’t tell you why exactly, only Blue knows that.
I personally don’t think 2.0 is what it should be these days…
But TV broadcasters today still use Dolby Digital aka AC3 2.0 or 5.1, although Dolby Digital Plus aka EAC3 has been around for a long time…
There are only very few stations that use EAC3.
Streaming services like Netflix do it much better.
But if you want the best soundtrack, then as a film fan you can’t ignore the Blu-ray or the IHD Blu-ray.
Because only on this data carrier is there e.g. Dolby Digital TrueHD (ATMOS) or DTS-HD Master / DTS:X.
I’m guessing that with my installation at home, I’m no longer part of the mass market but rather a home cinema fan 😉

I see it that way too. But what is always surprising is when there are regressions. Is it really a question of costs whether the WB channels (Warner TV film / series / comedy) only broadcast DD2.0 instead of DD5.1? They used to be pure 5.1. Suddenly it sounded sh… and I noticed that, for example, the dialogues were coming from all 10 of my home theater speakers instead of just the center. A few people, including me, complained, and then they switched to DD2.0. I don’t know whether Warner only delivers like this or whether there is another problem in the chain at Swisscom. I can’t check whether this is the case with other providers or via satellite.
It’s also strange with the CH Media channels.
During the playoff game yesterday, the sound on SRF was extremely spatial. There is more of a stadium atmosphere. MySports does the same as blue.
However, I am of the opinion that 5.1 is now very common and that you can often get cheap 5.1 systems thrown in or that a soundbar can at least process it virtually (which of course wouldn’t suit me as a freak).
Sure, as a freak it’s my hobby and I have my “expensive” home cinema system including Atmos, DTS:X and Auro. I watch films that are important enough to me on UHD Bluray, which I buy. But I also pay enough for Pay TV (light) and would like to be able to use it to feed my system.
Hello everyone @roku73 @roman70
So the fact that the CH Media stations are currently “only” broadcasting DD2.0 is due to the fact that CH Media have renewed their play-out equipment and are now starting with DD2.0 first and DD5.1 will then simply be activated again later.
However, I have not received any information as to when the 5.1 soundtracks will be available again.
So this is an issue with the broadcaster itself.
I don’t have any feedback regarding the WB channels yet…
LG
Hello @roman70
So here’s the first update on the case of the AC3 2.0 audio streams from the WB channels (previously TNT Film HD).
These AC3 2.0 audio tracks come directly from the station itself.
A request has now been placed with the broadcaster as to why they have no longer been delivering AC3 5.1 since August 10, 2021.
As soon as we have feedback from the broadcaster provider I will let you know.

Do we also receive Lilo TV and Schlagerparadies on blue tv air free?
Where is the press release from Swisscom about this?
In which packages, see the other thread in the forum.
There are no media releases. There is a pop-up on the TV screen or check the forum here regularly.
If Replay is included in your subscription, it would still have to be activated (via Box or via web interface).

@Glotzologe The media release (or the release in this forum) is already there, just a little late 🤪.

…Aha 😉
Glotzologist
@Glotzologe Of course, we usually have the internal forum “media release” for new channels between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., today it was just later 🤪. With these new channels, however, there is also sausage.
