New HD channels from Italy available from today

There is currently a disruption on various Italian channels.

I just looked at DMAX, the HD appears in the logo (but it’s a snip on TV Air), wasn’t there yesterday. Let’s see if it’s actually HD or just SD with HD display 🤠.

Come on, Rai News HD arrived today. Blue TV has picked up the pace and in about ten years we should be doing it (ironic)

Although some of these channels have the HD logo, the channels are definitely not broadcast in HD quality…

@Klothilde Yep, it’s been like this for quite some time, there’s probably no logo for these channels without “HD” for the SD version. It would be nice if it were really HD.

How can Swisscom still distribute the SD variant if it doesn’t actually exist (anymore)? And why would she do that? 😉

Yes, the “lame duck” called Swisscom. In German-speaking Switzerland they have little to no idea what’s going on in Ticino when it comes to Italian television. Negligible peripheral region. Only the prices are “premium”. Anyone who can, becomes independent and brings tivùsat or Sky Italia into their home (and the trend is increasing). We particularly happy people in beautiful southern Ticino look benevolently towards nearby Lombardy, from where we have recently been blessed with THE NEW DVB-T/DVB-T2 from the Bel Paese for FREE and in HD - with more channels than Swisscom.

@CC1835 Well, it is and remains the case that Swisscom does not communicate in advance whether and when new channels are coming or will be switched to HD, so all that remains is good old patience. I’m assuming that something like this will happen on the next “Change Day”, without knowing exactly. They’ll probably focus on the launch of the new subscription packages on May 23rd.

Despite being added to the update list on June 8, Food Network’s Italian channel continues to air on SD. From where? At the end of the month we have to pay the BlueTV bill in full, some of it is not enough.

The Food Network IT channel is broadcast in HD quality.

If necessary, set the picture quality to HD; use the remote control to make the selection in the context menu that appears on the TV’s ABS.

Food Network IT has been reviewed and is broadcast in HD. The transmission of Telenova and Nove in HD is planned for August 2022.
