Test the next generation of the Internet box now!

  • The development of the next generation Internet box is in full swing. Register now for the field test and test the latest Internet product from Swisscom.

The newest member of the successful Internet box family is ready for testing.

The super-fast fiber optic router impresses with internet speeds of up to 10 Gbit/s. The new 10 Gbit/s Ethernet port ensures this.

Selected Swisscom employees have been successfully using the Internet Box for several weeks. Now we would like to give community users the opportunity to test the product before its introduction.

In the profile below you will find all the important information about the field test.
We will notify the selected people by email after the registration deadline and inform them about the next steps. We assign the routers after registration is received.

    • Please note: To register, you must confirm the terms and conditions for the field test. In this you agree, among other things, to only use the Internet Box on your Anschluss, not to sell it and not to comment publicly or publish photos.

    • Hallo zusammen,

      MichelB

Thank you @MichelB for the exciting information. I can already hear the outcry about fiber optics (again) 😂. But these are the conditions that have to be accepted. I would also like to be there again, but I won’t receive fiber optics until the beginning of 2022 according to Checker. It’s a shame, but no problem 👍.

Can you give us copper customers some more interesting information about what the box is supposed to be able to do? Or is that still too secret?

    Show original language (German)

I’m not an expert when it comes to network expansion and I can’t help that glass is being expanded earlier for the trial. So I don’t have fiber optics on my private Anschluss either 😉

We’ll keep the details about the next router to ourselves for a while.

I can say this much: For copper customers, there is nothing missing from the router perspective with the Internet-Box 3.

I would be very happy if Fortuna would consider me here and I would receive one of the new Internet boxes to test. Could then really put a strain on my UDM Pro and the Ubiquiti 10 Gbit switches.

    To a Swisscom employee

When will you find out after filling out the registration whether you are one of the lucky ones who can test the new box?

    Thank you in advance.

    Good day,

I have completed the registration for the IB4 field test.

Since I didn’t receive a confirmation by email, how can I check whether the registration worked or whether there was a typo in the email address?

    Greeting

@MichelB I also registered and received an email, I will be informed about the next steps in the next few weeks. Does that mean I’m a tester (Hopefully 😀)?

Thank you, greetings and have a nice evening everyone

    @Flutachei90

Yes, then you will be there.

Do you already have an IB3 or IB2?

    Just don’t expect too much.

IMO it’s the same thing, just “for glass customers” and it certainly won’t be more expensive to produce 😉

It’s been running satisfactorily for me for some time now.

I have the IB 3. And I just enjoy trying new things. And as a user with “half knowledge” (the worst among users) to see what’s going on and where my stupidity brings everything to a standstill🤣

    Show original language (German)

Addendum: of course I don’t want to bring anything to a standstill. I just find it interesting to see whether the new IB brings more WiFi range, how the 10 GB (theoretically) holds up, whether a rudimentary NAS works via USB 3, etc. I’m curious.

    Show original language (German)

    WiFi possibly.

Although what should “a WLAN” be able to do or have to do if a device has a network connection.

“NAS” with a hard drive on an IB, whatever?

And somehow you will probably already have insider knowledge 😉
