Photos are uploaded in 4:3 AND 16:9

I take a photo on my iPhone 11 in 16:9 format. I connect my iPhone to mycloud, the synchronization begins. In icloud on the Windows PC I now see two images with the same name, one in 4:3 and one in 16:9 format. When I view icloud on iphone there is only one photo. What could be the reason?

I can’t say anything about the automatic photo upload to myCloud because I don’t use it, but when it comes to automatic photo upload to OneDrive, there is a distinction in the OneDrive settings as to whether 1 or 2 photos are uploaded:

If you can’t set anything with myCloud other than with OneDrive, it could also play a role whether you have the HEIC format activated on your iPhone or not, and whether you set Live Photos to “on” or “off” when taking photos. has.

The reason is this:

There is no actual (native) 16:9 format on the iPhone, i.e. it is only recorded in the 4:3 format and with the 16:9 setting the image is only cropped at the top and bottom. By the way, this is also the case with most DigiCams because most image sensors have a format of 4:3.

I don’t know why the iPhone 2 uploads images to the cloud or why both are displayed in the cloud even though the format set on the phone is included in the metadata.

Can you please help further.
