blue TV App: Finally on Apple TV

  • The blue TV app is now also available on Apple TV.

After Samsung, LG and Quickline, Wingo TV, Apple is the fifth manufacturer to enable blue TV enjoyment without Swisscom Box. The blue TV app is available on the 2015, 2017 and 2021 generation Apple TV Box. > to the Apple device overview

Please note: The blue TV app for Apple TV does not support in-app purchases or rentals on Apple TV. However, you can watch rented or purchased content on an Apple TV on https://tv.blue.ch or on Swisscom Box.

inOne home Customers with a Swisscom blue TV subscription must subscribe to the use of a second TV device for CHF 5 in order to use the app on Apple TV. This means you can directly access your personal channel list, your own recordings, purchases or rented videos.

Non-Swisscom customers can of course also use the app. You create a Swisscom login and can choose between the free or paid blue TV subscription Air. > to the offers

By the way, the app can now also be found on the Net+ set top box. So there are now 6 manufacturers that support blue TV. You can find more information at netplus.ch.

You can read how to get to the app on [our help page](https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/blue-tv/einrichten.html# Fremdprovider_box).

We wish you lots of fun and good entertainment!

I was just able to install the app without any problems. Commissioning also went smoothly. The first impression is very good. The picture seems sharp to me and in any case I was able to read the writing without any problems without glasses.

I can activate the personal channel list, but it is not active in the guide!?

That’s right, I didn’t notice it at all during the first quick test.

What I also noticed is that all of my recordings are listed twice.

If someone could test with Apple TV and blue app:

    - Can you activate your own channel list (created on your computer)?

    - Can you switch to the next day in the TV Guide?

These two things can’t be done via the app on the Samsung Smart TV, it’s extremely tedious!

The first question has already been addressed above. You can select it, but it is not included in the guide. Swisscom still needs to make improvements.

Yes, switching between days works quite easily for me.

@Stephan_76 And can you tell me how to do the day change? This doesn’t work at all with Samsung. And I don’t want to have to press “to the right” for minutes to go forward 2 days, for example.

Follow-up question: Can you jump to a specific channel (e.g. No. 500)?

I thought I had pressed back in the guide and then came to the bar with the days. But I’m traveling right now and can’t check it.

A direct selection of a station is convenient. At least I didn’t find such a function.

Correction, I’m in the guide between the channels, press Menu and then I get to the bar where I can navigate the days with the left and right.

I couldn’t find a direct selection for a channel. Unfortunately, I can’t easily search for a program on the tablet and then start it on the Apple.

Ok, just browsing would be great. This definitely doesn’t work on the Samsung Smart TV.

And if you then choose your own channel sorting, then it’s time for me to buy an Apple TV. Although the Samsung Smart TV already has this itself!

    Good evening @MiriamF

Thank you very much for the information, that’s great news!

I just downloaded the app on my ATV. And what can I say - awesome, finally! From the first impression, blue TV runs more smoothly under ATV than with the SC TV box. 😉

Everything I need is there! I’m thrilled.

Can someone please confirm whether the following things are possible with Apple TV:

    - Select your own channel list (created on the PC)? The Samsung Smart TV now works (finally!)

    - Go a few days into the future in the TV Guide, e.g. from Tuesday to Saturday

    - Do the UHD channels from blue Sport work? Do you have to have the latest ATV?

    Greetings and thanks - Marcel

What about the time lag when streaming? Especially during sporting events, it is often annoying when the neighbors are already cheering while the scene cannot be seen yet. Is this more noticeable with the Apple TV app than with the box?

    - Selecting the channel list works, but it still isn’t accepted.

    - Yes 7 days into the past and 7 days into the future

    - At least the blue sign is coming. Unfortunately, Blue hardly has any content for the UHD channels.

    Hello @Thirulei11

The delay between Swisscom Box and Apple TV is almost 17 seconds. The Apple TV (as well as the mobile apps) is useless for live sports if the neighbor with a Swisscom Box is watching the same thing.

    Hi everyone,

The issues regarding channel lists and duplicate recordings are already known and will be resolved later this week.

Regarding direct channel selection, perhaps not the perfect solution, but the following tip:

A station list can be pulled up within the player using the swipe-up gesture. Admittedly, with several hundred channels you still have to swipe relatively far to the right. But if you have to, you simply have a channel list that is too big 😉
