Improved programming data on blue TV

Dear community,

We are pleased to inform you of new improvements to come to benefit even more from blue TV. We are going to change TV metadata provider in order to have more precise programming on all devices in the medium term (images, texts, genres, programming times). For example, there will be an optimization of previews, additional information on the actors or even a better subdivision of genres.

These changes will be implemented in stages. It is planned to migrate all metadata by the end of the year.

However, such a change can also cause unforeseen problems. There might be a missing country code, a serial recording isn’t working properly, or something might be happening that we don’t know yet. That being said, we are doing everything we can to make this change as smooth as possible.

A question related to changing the source of metadata. Is there a risk of corruption/disappearance of the metadata of the recordings, particularly if they are old. I have already noticed a few times that the detailed information was no longer available.

@DanielD In principle, no metadata should disappear, although we can never rule it out completely. What is possible is that the metadata differs from the old to the new provider. To avoid problems as much as possible, the migration will be done step by step. This way, changes can be better observed and problems can be detected more quickly.

Excellent news perhaps but in the meantime, what disappointments for the recordings and even the Replay function for the English channels…

Example yesterday, the program watched in Replay on ITV2 was cut by 20 minutes and it was impossible to go back or see the missing content.

As for the problem of series impossible to record as such, no comment. You have to press the red button on each episode manually each time.

In short, a problem that has lasted for several months and I still pay my subscription at the normal price. Find the error…

Thanks for the message. Indeed, I do my recordings on English channels manually while waiting for better days.

As for the show in question last night on Replay, almost half of which was unrecoverable, it concerns the episode of Love Island on Sunday July 18 (approximately 10 p.m. to 11:05 p.m.) on ITV2. After clicking on the show to watch it again last night, the program starts normally then glitches, the image freezes and the screen is frozen, following this, the broadcast “skips” the first 20 to 25 minutes of the program and over about 50-55 minutes I was only able to see half of them normally. Obviously, I gave up seeing that my attempts to recover the first 20 minutes were doomed to failure.

I’m going on vacation this Sunday and have programmed all my recordings on the English channels manually. Hoping to be able to view complete, unfixed and unplanned programs when I return…

I actually have a mini image and sound bug at the very beginning of the show, then certainly a part not available as you explained.

I just tested on my computer and the show seems to have been broadcast correctly on TV Air.

I log in to blue on my account and click on the show to watch it again?

@yoggem That’s it, go to this link, then log in at the top right, using your Swisscom login linked to your inOne home.

Then choose the TV-Guide tab, then search for the channel on the right. When the channel’s TV Guide appears, you can choose the broadcast day and search for the time slot with the blue cursor.

And there you have it, you should be able to watch the part of the show you missed 😀

@Leyla G - Following your message telling us that an improvement is in sight in the content of the information concerning the programs, I have just noticed that for “Top Models” broadcast by RTS Un, the summary really corresponds to what is currently being distributed and it is no longer a standard text which was completely outdated.

As for the list of performers, it has grown, but lo and behold, there are two different actors for the same role (Thomas Forrester) and actors who either died in the series (example: Caroline Spencer), or really deceased (example: Sally Spectra)… I also found characters who disappeared from the credits for a long time (example: Ivy Forrester). Does this mean she will return from her native Australia?!!

Conclusion: even with patience, “we are not out of the woods yet”!!!!

Note that Top Models is the only “soap opera” that I watch and therefore I cannot comment on the countless others… Besides, when we look at programs in general there are practically only series of very variable lengths and it will be very useful to know how many episodes they consist of.

    Looking forward to an improvement… The show “Criminal Files” currently broadcast by RTS Un is a French series, but if we want to watch what episodes await us, suddenly the show is called “Mörderjagd” (German) and it’s a British series. It has to be done!!!

      Indeed, I don’t know if the change has already been made for Arte. If so, you will need to pay attention to the description of the programs “Invitation to travel” is not sufficient. You need to give us the details of the program and not a generic description. The same goes for the show “Regards”, also on Arte.       I also notice that "manually chosen series episodes - like “Invitation au voyage” on Arte - are no longer together.. Is this normal? Will they be reunited once the transition is complete? See the photo on my message from August 25…

      In the meantime, to try to group them, I look at the new ones first in the hope that the following ones will put themselves in the right “box”… Is there a way to do it manually?

      P.S. Currently impossible to schedule broadcasts on Arte from Monday 13 because according to the message displayed the programs are not yet available? Is it due to the transition?

      I think that until the transition is complete, we will need to have patience… I have already noticed several things, let’s say a little “weird”, but don’t know whether to report them or not.. .. because I don’t know if this is the result of the transition and I only hope it’s temporary.

      One thing is certain: I dare to hope that the vignettes with the names of the actors will disappear and that we will once again be entitled to a simple table with the name of the character in one column and his actor in the other… As already mentioned, the current thumbnails are mostly “empty”….

      We must also hope that the illustrations of the shows will correspond better to the show in question… because it is often “nonsense”!!!
