Creating a future with modular subscriptions?

Hello dear,

I recently “studied” whether it wouldn’t be a cool thing if there were completely modular subscriptions (not directly related to Swisscom)?

My idea behind it would be that there is a basic subscription. This includes “everything important” such as unlimited calls in Switzerland and unlimited SMS. This could be, for example, a derivative of Swiss Mobile Light.

The customer would then have the opportunity to book additional options at any time if necessary.

This means you can decide individually when you use it whether unlimited internet is “necessary” or not and also whether, for example, the internet is used abroad.

Due to the modularity, billing could then only take place in the booked period:

So if I booked the unlimited internet option in the EU for 20 per month for three days, I would actually be charged around 2 francs for it.

Because to be honest - unlimited Internet in the EU “for years” is a bit exaggerated, especially for inOne Young…

What do you think? Would such a model have a chance? And if not, why?

But that is not what Swisscom etc. wants.

You want to sell memberships to gyms that are not being used.

It would also be a complete mess with the hotline.

Then customers get in touch who supposedly haven’t booked it or have booked it or who knows which option and don’t want to pay…

And does the system manage this and how should it all be accounted for?
In an ideal world, that would be great.

@marcus Swisscom “manages” to carry out billing based on the exact centime for the TV boxes. Instead of paying five francs for a few days of the month, you only pay 3 francs.

I know it may sound stingy, but in the long run this is a saving for the customer - and I think that this would also be a good selling point for Swisscom to attract more customers…
