Can the booster be configured so that you can switch off the 5G like the IB3 programmed the WIFI?

No, I’m not aware of anything like that.

The thing is, when you sign up again you get this part free.~ (EDIT: an error on my part. @Roger G Thanks for the tip)

But not when you just change your subscription.

This is stated in Kundencenter, where you can order the 5G Booster.

If you order as a new customer, you will automatically “stumble” to the 5G Booster order form.

Then everything is clear, now I understand what you mean.

Then I ordered two days early when it wasn’t there yet. My order has now been confirmed and the activation date is December 1st, 2021.

Well, probably bad luck.

I really don’t want to have to call the hotline again and beg and argue. Then they’ll probably send me the 4G booster and I’ll just get upset😂

But Roger could give me one afterwards if he was nice😀 I’m a new customer.

No, this new customer not new customer topic is something that concerns me…….

Greetings Tom

No, the 5G booster is never free, not even for new customers. This is a mistake and is probably being confused with the router!

Yes, what now?🙉

@realGoliath

Please provide proof of your claim, screenshot of something.

Somehow I can’t imagine that if these things cost Swisscom a lot of money, they certainly don’t just sell them off for free…

I’m curious. Anything is possible, including system errors 😉

Greetings

Tom

    No! Sorry if I didn’t make myself clear before.

    The 4G booster cost nothing and the result was that they were not returned when they were removed and no longer used. This is also why Swisscom has decided to no longer provide the new 5G booster for free.

    Hahaha Roger is slowly becoming aggressive😂

    So nothing is free, not even for new customers. That’s a good thing too.

    By the way, why does this thing have to be called Booster, in this current epidemiological situation 😛 They could have chosen a happier name 😉

    @Roger G

    Why should I pay for the 5G booster if I don’t know how good the reception quality is?

    That’s stupid, taking 150 dollars out of the customer’s pocket without a guarantee.

    At the moment I have 12-13 mb/s down. (60 copper line, 60 4G booster)

    By simply switching my subscription from VIVO M to inHome Internet L, will I get more download speed with the 4G Booster?

    I think that my copper wire can’t handle more than 60, but with the 4G Booster the bar should go even higher.

    I ask for your assessment.

    Thank you

      Is there a right of return for the 5G booster if it becomes apparent during use that it does not live up to expectations? corresponds to the information provided by the checker?

      I would switch to the Abo Home “M” and if your booster has 3 graduations of reception power you can get a maximum of around 250/60 Mbit/s. and if the reception e.g. With 4-5 graduations even higher, it may even be possible to get even more with the Home “L” subscription.

      What reception performance does the cell phone show you?

      With my display of two tick marks on the iPhone 12 Mini and three tick marks on the 5G booster, I get the performance below in the image.

        @Roger G

        What is the reason if I have the subscription “M” and cannot reach 300/60 Mbit and when I use the subscription “L” as a test I reach the speed of the subscription “M”.

        I saw that the performance of the 5G booster is increased from -97dBm (ABo “M”) to -95dBm for the (ABo “L”) and around 50-60Mbit/s more are available, which is actually the value of the “ABo” M" should be achieved.

        So it would be technically possible to get the setpoint from ABo “M” without having to use ABo “L”.

        Below are the pictures of the reception performance of the ABo “M” and ABo “L”.

        Image: Subscription “M”.

          Question about this: When the 5G Booster is running, I can no longer access my PC via RDP because of the IPv4 in the 100 range, right?

          Addendum: I found the error 😀

          These are my performance values.

          Question: If I switch to InHome with Internet L, will I get more 4G speed to get to 300?

          @Roger G

          "So it would be technically possible to get the setpoint from ABo “M” without having to use ABo “L”."

          Thank you very much for that and that also works with the 4G Booster?

          So I switch to Internet L do I get 300 down with 4G?

          Show original language (German)

          @realGoliath

          You can also do it like I did, first activate the Home subscription “M” and then later activate the Home subscription “L” in Kundencenter. If that doesn’t work, you can switch back to the Home subscription “M” in your Kundencenter without any problems. There is no specific contractual term for this change.

          The whole thing works within 5-10 minutes.

          Yes, it works, but don’t overdo it.

          What may take you longer at the beginning is to switch from your “old” subscription to the Home subscription and if that’s the case, you can choose the Internet Home subscription as a test without any problems.

          It is important that you can no longer switch from a new subscription back to an old subscription that is no longer offered, and also take into account that the Home subscription “S” is not released for the booster.

          Then there is no risk.

          Order a 5G booster, have it activated, test it for 10 days and then decide.

          That’s certainly better than taking any 5G measurements with your cell phone and then speculating.

          Show original language (German)

          And as I said, the 5G booster is IP66 protected and with PoE you can certainly try it under the roof or on a better located house wall. PoE has a theoretical range of 100M, so 30 shouldn’t be a problem for example 😉
