The development has been completed (it’s from Nokia) and we have implemented the integration into our network with all the processes. The Internet M received less US than the Internet L. With “patience” I mentioned exactly that… just a few more sleeps 😀

  • hed likes that.

Patience is a very flexible term. I misinterpreted this to mean that it could take a few more weeks or several months. 🙂

I’ve only read along so far, but now I’m interested in 2-3 things:

1. I lost my LTE backup when the 5G booster turned on… I’m assuming the 5G booster kicks in if the copper fails?

2. What happens if my Anschluss (XGS-PON should come) gets more power, will the booster option no longer apply? In other words, will the modem then become useless or will it remain in operation as long as the Anschluss remains below one Gbit/s?

3. (more like a Nice2Have) Can you also use the part as a standalone modem, i.e. put your own SIM card in and connect it to another gateway with WAN-Anschluss, and then do the config via a web server etc.?

Because… if the glass does come, I can take the modem with me to my (non-existent) alpine hut and provide Internet there…

Thanks for your answers - I’m sure the readership in the thread will also be interested 🙂

best regards

Sasha

@Roger G,

I’m sure I won’t get an answer to the question, but it’s worth a try.

is there a hidden menu in Nokia settings?

(I’m trying to find a solution to my problem in post 68)

The thing about taking over if the copper Internet connection fails with the 5G booster doesn’t work yet.

I don’t want to start a new topic with the following question because it also has something to do with bonding and maybe someone here knows something about it.

Is it actually possible to bundle two wired DSL connections at Swisscom?

Bundling two G.Fast connections would be interesting…

Greetings

Hi Sasha,

Here are the short answers 😀

1. I lost my LTE backup when the 5G booster turned on… I’m assuming the 5G booster kicks in if the copper fails?

Do you remember where you lost it? Sorry, couldn’t resist. No, the booster does not jump because it needs a stable landline. But it’s interesting, I’ll clarify why backup shouldn’t run anymore.

2. What happens if my Anschluss (XGS-PON should come) gets more power, will the booster option no longer apply? In other words, will the modem then become useless or will it remain in operation as long as the Anschluss remains below one Gbit/s?

Bonding is deactivated

3. (more like a Nice2Have) Can you also use the part as a standalone modem, i.e. put your own SIM card in and connect it to another gateway with WAN-Anschluss, and then do the config via a web server etc.?

No, see point 1

Hello Roger,

Thanks for the info… I can’t remember, the LTE backup suddenly disappeared. Unfortunately I forgot to put an AirTag on it, otherwise I would have found it already. “Hey Siri, find my LTE backup!”

It’s a shame that point 3 doesn’t work. Now that would be a cool thing.
I think I’ll pack up the modem again and send it back - the effort is then too great for the return (installation effort but also the “gained” data rate)

Best regards

Just to be on the safe side: Are you already measuring with a PC via LAN cable and not WiFi? It just looks like a WLAN device that can do a maximum of 300mbps.

@Roger G

okay… Confucius perfetto!

I just wanted to top your gag chchchchch… AirTag

Here it is wired with LAN as far as possible… the core components with 10Gbit.

There is only WiFi for cell phones and a few “not worth wiring” devices.

But seriously: Why shouldn’t you be able to use the Nokia as a “normal” 5G modem?

It has what it takes - it may just be that the firmware is resisting it.

Best regards
