Where will the journey with Swisscom Blue TV lead in 2021?

The year is coming to an end, and so the question here is where the journey with Swisscom blue TV should lead in 2021, or what you would like to see in the new year on blue TV.

It would certainly be great if there were other offers from Swisscom, such as a music streaming service or, similar to Apple One, a package with several options for blue TV, Netflix, Apple Music or other…

It would be nice to be less cramped… 😆

more Hbb TV, Pluto TV app, slow motion function, home channel/Romance TV return in German Top + or television with heart package (possibly with new pop-up channel “Fairy Tale Magic”) additional Russian/Ukrainian channels, Health TV, British Sony and CBS Channels and much more.

Even more OTT offers without the need for Swisscom TV Box.

Playback of Swisscom TV directly on as many Smart TV devices as possible, but also the possibility of playing Swisscom TV via Apple TV would certainly find many fans.

Clearly (significantly) better picture and sound quality!

Of course, Swisscom can only broadcast what is available. In a direct comparison, however, the UPC and especially the satellite signal are significantly better.

VoD should be raised to at least Netflix levels. I’m actually of the opinion that VoD has to compete in terms of quality with Ultra HD Blu-Ray. UHD, Dolby Vision, Dolby Digital Plus… Currently, it’s absolutely no fun to rent a video, regardless of the price.

In terms of price, I would probably accept a higher price if the quality is right. Maybe a significantly higher data rate for an additional charge? It’s probably unrealistic, that’s for sure…

I miss the old days!

You could still say hey, that’s something cool! But now I prefer to look away and lower my head in frustration.

All Sky sports channels were still on offer. TC Sport 2 and Sky Sport 2 share the frequency on cable. All at no extra charge!

I expect a hell of a lot from the store in 2021! Try to get closer to Sky again. Apart from football, you don’t really have much variety in Blue Sport 1 and 2.

The new blue station names aren’t exactly anything new either…

    sounds familiar…

The channels TNT Film and Pro7 Fun definitely have to come back into the package. It makes absolutely no sense to only offer Kabeleins Classic, just like TNT series and comedy!

I don’t know, but what was the store thinking? I don’t know of any provider in Switzerland, Germany or Austria that makes a mess of Pay TV packages like Swisscom is doing.

My wish would be a mini display on the TV-Box for the radio stations so that you don’t need the TV.

For the sound you can then plug external speakers directly into the TV-Box.

I have a comparison here in the house with Salt and Sunrise and don’t see any difference with the videos on my Samsung TV?

Then you probably just don’t know what the competition offers or Ultra HD Blu-ray… With less than 18 Mbit/s, no wonder… For example, I haven’t discovered a film with Dolby Vision yet, I think there’s audio too no DD+ yet.

(Of course, I don’t consciously watch every film to see what’s on offer, if there is already something there, sorry for my wrong statement.)

Unfortunately, I can’t compare Sunrise and Salt directly. However, I would assume that the image quality is definitely comparable to Swisscom. I mean the DVB-C and DVB-S signal, which is usually better here. Fine textures on textiles or grass are sometimes just bad with Swisscom (and probably also with IPTV from Sunrise etc…).

Someone is leaning out the window. There’s no getting around the quality of a good UHD Blu-ray on an OPPO 203, that’s clear. But compared to the streamers, the quality of blue is not bad.

Yes, there are no films in Dolby yet, hope that changes in 2021.

My “humble” wishes for SC-TV 2021 (in the listed priority):

    - Air Play integration

    - TV-Box with display for radio operation without TV

    - Apple Siri, Cortana, Google and Amazon integration

    - lower compression on high bandwidth connections (= better image quality)

I especially want the Spanish channels Antena 3 and Antena 3 International. This is exactly how you should consider whether you want to include Telemundo International in your program. I put everything in the Spanish package. There are already Las Estrellas and TLN Novelas, both from Mexico. Then it would certainly also be possible to take Telemundo. The radio station I would like is the Spanish station Chocolate FM.

Wish everyone a healthy and successful 2021.

It would certainly make more sense to add several channels to the Blue Max package. In my opinion, channels like Kinowelt and TNT Film should simply be integrated into good feature film channels.

Why only 3 film channels and 8 series channels? A fair distribution would be desirable here.

Take a look at the competition, Sky offers: Kinowelt and TNTFilm in a package. With Swisscom, however, you still have to book the top package for Cinema World.

Kabeleins Classic isn’t bad either. In my opinion, it can keep up well with Kinowelt and TNT Film. If you did it smartly and fairly you could make great deals out of it.
