Connecting the Swisscom remote control to the TV no longer works

    The following problem:

    I can no longer control the volume of my home cinema system with the Swisscom remote control. Which went smoothly until yesterday.

    I checked all the settings, plugged in and unplugged the cable, shut everything down, also switched off TV-Box (UHD) and started it again.

    The connection between the Swisscom TV remote control and the TV was deleted and I wanted to reconnect it. And that no longer works. I tried this several times with all 27 codes offered for my TV.

    Everything else works with the FB, but I can no longer adjust the sound with it. At the moment I have to enter this again with the TV remote control of the Panasonic or the receiver.

    Question: What could be the reason for the connection not being established? Is there a reset on the TV-Box that doesn’t immediately go back to the factory setting? Is there another solution.

    Here is my list of devices:

    Swisscom TV-Box UHD

    TV: Panasonic TX-65GZC1004 (2020)

    AV receiver: Marantz NR 1710 (2019)

    Speakers / Center: B&W speakers L/R and a center (2019)

    Panasonic BluRay player (2019)

    Swisscom box, BluRay and B&W run via the receiver (box and BluRay with HDMI)

    Receiver goes to TV with HDMI (both eARC)

    It may be that “Surround Sound” is set, some systems do not support this!

    N.B. A reset deletes e.g. Not your recorded shows.

    You can reset the TV-Box at any time; nothing will be lost except that you may then have to re-pair the FB.

    Whether you can control the volume of the downstream devices with the Swisscom FB depends on various things, including the audio settings of the TV-Box. It actually always works with stereo and TruVolume, but not with surround sound.

    No, surround is not set.

    I also saw the link but didn’t follow it any further…thought if everything else works. But I’ll play through it this evening.

    Yesterday evening I reconnected the FB with the Swisscom Box, or I wanted to do this. Then the message came that the battery status is 0%. Put new batteries in and it works.

    What’s confusing now is that elsewhere in the system settings in the Swisscom Box it gave me the battery status as 47% 🤔. That’s why I didn’t even think in that direction. This message only came up when connecting.
