You have to click on your subscription under Mobile Devices in Kundencenter. Then click on Devices & SIM in the menu on the right.
There you can then select “Order replacement SIM” and convert your main SIM into an eSIM. You will then be shown the QR code, which you have to scan with your iPhone.
On the iPhone you then have to go to Settings -> Mobile network -> Add mobile tariff and then scan the QR code. You will then receive an SMS where you have to confirm the activation. It’s all relatively simple.
Please note that a WiFi connection must be active when activating the eSIM. Otherwise activation will not work.
No, the main SIM will then be deactivated. If you want multiple SIM cards, you have to order them from Multidevice via Kundencenter. They’re free. Depending on the subscription, you pay per additional SIM.
I myself have the “Connect Pack” option active for 20.-/month and have 3 additional SIM cards included. You can then activate this as an eSIM or classic SIM card.
Without this option, as far as I know, each additional SIM costs 10 per month. Watches are 5.-/month.
However, you can only receive SMS with the main SIM.
@hed That’s right. But I was surprised a while ago when I saw that there was a new app. This can be used parallel to the SIM version on several devices. I find a great solution.
Funny. That’s what the app was supposed to be for. I have the app and the SIM in the same device. But just in case I’m abroad and switch my main SIM. If the SC SIM is not the main SIM, MobileID does not work either. I once read that this is being fixed. But I never tested it again.
I’ll try installing the MobileID on my second device and testing it.
