Now we’re just waiting for the promo to replace the “old” HD devices. 😉

I’m actually sure that the promo will come, but currently without sufficient supplies of hardware from China, the timing is of course extremely bad.

And waiting any longer to roll out EOS4 would certainly not have been a good idea either.

I’m very happy that EOS4 is now widely available to customers and I’m also curious about the feedback, because apart from the fact that dark mode is not freely selectable (which you get used to in a very short time), I personally found it in test mode EOS4 has been completely convincing for months.

Looks really promising. Were there really promos where you could exchange the device @Chips and @Werner and get a new one here? Did you still have to pay something?

But now we should go buy some popcorn for the first time and wait until this thread fills up again, because some people think the update will come directly to them and won’t be distributed in a staggered manner. 😂😅

Hello everyone

The EOS4 update is currently still in the testing phase. This also includes a controlled rollout, which is why some users already have EOS4 installed. the dark mode can be seen.

If no serious problems arise during the current test phase, the rollout will be expanded to all UHD boxes in the foreseeable future.

You can find in the following thread [Update EOS4: New software version for the UHD TV-Box available](https://community.swisscom.ch/t5/Archiv-TV/Update-EOS4-Neue-Software-Version-f%C3% BCr-die-UHD-TV-Box-verf%C3%BCgbar/m-p/605871#U605871) further information on EOS4.

I hope you have fun trying it out.

Best regards
IvanH

I didn’t want the new OS, it was simply installed, with the result that I can almost no longer read the text.

My wife with reduced vision (NHA) had the same problem.

The font can be set to large under the TV-Box “Accessibility” settings.

It helped for her, so I would give it a try.

Hello,

Is it possible to change the background color somewhere in the settings? After a setup, all of the backgrounds suddenly have bright white fonts against a dreary and very ugly black background. We feel like we’re at a funeral!

Thank you very much and best regards

It’s just modern.

You get used to it quickly 😉

I also find it more pleasant in the darkened TV room, the previously white background was very blinding…

Still, one or the other option should have been given to choose from…

Now the only question is whether the new release will also recognize which episodes of a series you have already recorded during series recordings. This doesn’t always have to be recorded twice or multiple times, which ultimately only costs valuable storage space. I’m excited and doubtful!

Black is more energy-efficient for OLED TVs and easier on the eyes in dark rooms. So I think it’s better than the white one. When changing from Swisscom TV 1 to 2, it bothered many people that the background color changed from blue to white.

It would also be interesting to see whether the ‘already seen’ flag is no longer reset when a repeat is broadcast^^
