@DomiP

We certainly agree on the topic of electability, but otherwise it varies from person to person depending on their habits

What can be clearly proven by a study:

Black text on a light background is much easier to read for most people than light text on a black background.

That’s probably why the very fashionable dark mode trend has not (yet) broken out, at least in books and newspapers.

P.S.: By the way, the EOS4 of the TV boxes is “forced black” - so perhaps you should be a little careful with further dark mode requests to Swisscom…

    @DomiP

So system-controlled dark mode already exists today.

For example, in Firefox on my iPad, which I am currently using to write this post.

One click (or timed in the options) and you have this:

Exactly, that’s actually good, but some elements just aren’t ‘perfect’ yet…

If it is provided by the site itself, it looks a little cleaner.

That’s exactly what I thought when I recently heard about “dark mode”!

    - But if someone likes it, they should have the opportunity to make this “SETTING” on the device of their choice: something new more often & To each their own!

I’m not entirely sure if I understood this thing correctly:

    a) certain people would like SWISSCOM to enable “dark mode”?

    b) with certain browsers can you set it that way?

c). Are there fears that if you now provide only EVERYTHING in “dark mode” (e-mail, community, My Cloud, etc.) it will make some people uncomfortable or not suitable?

So I would only be in favor of “dark mode”, if you can set it yourself!

    Dear Domi,

Do you really believe that it is SWISSCOM’s job to set up this “dark mode” that you so covet, when there are already ways to organize it yourself. I have read in the contributions of various customers that, among other things: It is possible to set it up with “Firefox” and “Edge”!

Enforcing dark mode in the browser is one solution. Many websites no longer work and the display is sometimes incorrect.

It is always best if it is natively supported. The forum software may already offer templates.

Unfortunately, the forum software that was formerly called Lithium and has now merged with another to form Khoros does not offer this function.

    However, I found a pretty exciting thread: [https://community.khoros.com/t5/Khoros-Community-Discussions/Communities-dark-theme/td-p/575573](https://community.khoros. com/t5/Khoros-Community-Discussions/Communities-dark-theme/td-p/575573)

@Freiweinteuk58 of course it is not obligatory for any operator to integrate dark mode, but at the moment you can clearly see where we are going: SBB Mobile, EOS4, macOS, iOS, Android and also many GTK systems offer dark mode .

If Swisscom does this, everyone will have a uniform design and many of the problems that appear with the Edge or Firefox method, for example (that graphics have a bold, white border, for example), would then no longer exist.

Anyway (now more OT from OT) I personally think that Swisscom should develop a uniform style guide for all services and must stick to it. myCloud has a different design than myswisscom, Bluewin a different one than swisscom.ch… For a company, everything should go together with a corporate identity so that you can immediately say “Ou, that’s a Swisscom product” or “Ah, an SBB app”…

And as far as dark mode is concerned: This is now really mainstream. Everyone follows suit. It would be a shame if Swisscom missed this hype. Because it not only protects our battery but also our eyes 😉

You have a mature opinion and clear ideas! I respect that, but personally I’m happy when each service has its own appearance (this way I know where I am at the moment and it provides variety)! The SWISSCOM logo is enough for me for the “corporate identity.”

    Show original language (German)

@Freiweinteuk58 It may be that the logo is sufficient, but the design does not seem consistent on the pages.

I mean every company has a style guide for applications and documents. Our company has this too and you have to stick to it with every new application - even if it is already very outdated.

This includes, for example, colors or font and logo properties that are adhered to everywhere. Here just a small example, which is particularly helpful for design work…

    Hello DomiP

With the Dark Background and Light Text extension with the Firefox browser, dark mode actually works.

But I think it takes a bit of getting used todarkmodus.png

    Stay healthy

@mazel The problem is that images that are round, for example, but are saved as square JPGs have an unsightly white border with corners.

The dark mode is there, but such problems would have to be ‘solved’ by the operator for a 100% dark mode to exist. 😉

    Greetings and beautiful Obe!

So I don’t really know; - I’m surprised at some dissatisfaction!

    - But z. E.g. “My SWISSCOM” really beautifully designed: light blue background with dark blue font. 😛

So I think this is much nicer than a black background with white writing. 🤔🤔*
