Chou Davu,
I strongly assume that Disney+ will also be integrated into Swisscom TV.
However, this also depends on how high the demand is among customers.
Since Disney+ also runs on Android TV, porting it to Swisscom TV would certainly not require a huge amount of effort from a technical point of view.
However, it should also be noted what this looks like in terms of performance: apparently Netflix operates its own servers within the Swisscom network, which make the media available (you can find out with F12…) - Disney’s servers are available far away and many people try to use this, I think it could also be jerky.

Dominic

“Already?” Does Netflix’s SC TV app stutter so much? I only used it about twice, but everything was really soft.
But don’t you think that at least you don’t have to buffer so much? The stream is then only practically available for Switzerland and not for DACH countries, for example 🤔

Yes, it jerks. Exactly once per second. It stands out when the camera pans beautifully or moves smoothly. Take a look at the intro to Star Trek Discovery, for example.
It’s possible that it doesn’t stutter in all productions, but unfortunately in practically everything I consume on Netflix…
The problem is known and has nothing to do with the servers, but rather that the TV-Box cannot play back 24P material properly.
Once this is solved, there is no longer any reason against such integration. Netflix on the SCTV box is otherwise incredibly fast, at least light years faster than my 7-year-old BD player, which doesn’t have the 24P problem when playing Netflix content.
@kaetho sounds very exciting and promising. It’s just a shame that the price is significantly more expensive than in Europe, but if the content is right, that’s not so bad. 😅
@UrsSch is something already known for the release at TV-Box or perhaps with the release of EOS 4.0?
Greetings,
Dominic

Hello everyone
I agree with @user109, we’ll probably have to wait a little longer and be patient.
Because I haven’t received a Disney+ app to test yet.
But Swisscom is certainly very interested in getting this app, but I don’t know of a release date for this app and Swisscom also doesn’t officially provide any advance information about what might come next without the appropriate contracts being signed.
Because what use would it be if I advertised here with a release date and then it doesn’t happen because the appropriate contracts/audits etc. don’t exist or aren’t ready yet.
Greetings
What I also think, instead of porting thousands of apps to Swisscom TV, it would make much more sense to develop a Chromecast or Apple AirPlay integration, where you can then stream with any app that supports something like that. Dozens of offers but only one application on SC TV…

@DomiP it’s not so easy to stream what each customer individually wants, because Swisscom TV is a public platform provider, the rights holders have a say. Some streaming providers require audits from the platform provider/operator. Nothing works beforehand and that takes a lot of effort and time. If I install things like this privately via an app, it’s a completely different issue and there isn’t as much effort, for whatever reason.
The best example is Netflix.

I would be happy if YouTube was capable of HDR 😉
