Arabic channels

Dear Swisscom TV Team

Would it be possible for you to turn off one or the other of the following Arabic (Music) broadcasters? They are already available with other TV providers, e.g. either iWay, Cablecom or GGA Maur.

Music:

- Rotana Mousica (u.a. via Eutelsat 7WA (7.3°W))

- Rotana Clip (u.a. via Eutelsat 7WA (7.3°W))

- Mazzika (u.a. via Nilesat 201)

Other sender:

- Sultanate of Oman TV (u.a. via via Eutelsat 7WA (7.3°W))

- Télévision Tunisienne 1 (u.a. via Eutelsat 7WA (7.3°W))
- Qatar TV (e.g. via Eutelsat 7WA (7.3°W))

- Al Sharqiyah (u.a. via Nilesat 201)

- Kuwait TV 1 (u.a. via Arabsat 5C)

- Dubai Sports (u.a. via Eutelsat 7WA (7.3°W))

Most of the channels mentioned are partly in HD free to air via Hotbird13B or 13 C (not Mazzika or Rotana channels). The other Swiss providers also get the signal from somewhere ;-))

It’s a shame that the channels “Dubai Sports”, “Kuwait TV” and “Oman TV” were simply switched off on August 11th, 2021 due to “low customer benefit” 😞

Could one instead, as suggested in November 2019, perhaps be one or more of the following music stations…

  • Rotana Mousica
  • Rotana clip
  • Mazzika

…or…

  • MBC 1 Europe
  • BBC Arabic
  • Al Jazeera Documentary

…connect? Maybe music stations would also be a change from the news stations. There are also plenty of these in the other language offerings (e.g. Turkish).

- Mazzika

The two Rotana channels are available on Arabsat:

    @Gulfstream_N9999M This is not the Swisscom team but a customer help customer forum. As is generally known, Swisscom never announces channel updates in advance, but perhaps a moderator will pass on the request internally. But no one will promise anything.

    Arabic channels like MBC or the music channels would also make my wife happy, but I hardly believe that you can access the satellite for both in Switzerland… Hotbird is no problem…
