HD-Phone DAVOS
Good morning,
I had a HD-Phone Zermatt that could no longer do software updates. Swisscom therefore sent me an HD-Phone Davos in exchange at the end of May 2019 (the Zermatt is apparently no longer sold). 3 months of “normal” use before the recurring problem, as if my phone went into Mute mode by itself = impossibility of hearing the caller/the called party, who cannot hear me either.
4x the problem in less than 2 months. Contacts with Swisscom technical support and several useless manipulations:
- change the batteries
- reconnect the phone (settings -> advanced settings -> connection)
- router reboot (ON/Off key)
- router reset (with a paper clip, right there, in the little hole)
The fault is usually resolved after 30 minutes of conversations with the technical service (because they must follow their repair process to the letter). When I ask what manipulations they carried out, I am told “I made adjustments to your line…”
/cynicism mode ON
-I have a flat tire
-Wait, let’s start from the beginning. Did you put the ignition key on? Do you have enough gas?
/cynicism mode OFF
It’s getting really painful. The line is good (according to technical assistance), the Internet-box 2 has just been changed. The problem I think is between the box and the phone… According to the 4 different technicians I spoke to, they never had this kind of problem to deal with (hahahaha). Has anyone in the community had a similar problem?
I was not offered to exchange my phone, however I was given a “commercial gesture” (discount on next bill) for the inconvenience caused. And I’m thinking about my future calls because I know that the problem will arise again: my problem was dealt with temporarily but no one looked into the cause.
In summary, 4 bad experiences with technical support and a lot of wasted time. I am seriously considering changing operators. The grass is certainly not greener elsewhere, but perhaps I will find technicians there who are less arrogant and have a little more consideration for the customer.
