Setting up Zyxel XMG3927

  • Good day everybody

    I have the following problem:

    I would like to use the Zyxel XMG3927 router at home. This was configured by the computer scientist and an attempt was made to set it up on site. The PPPoE setting didn’t help us much. But with IPoE we got online and tried to get to the Internet. (We even tried to put another Zyxel router into operation, it received a fixed IP, with the same result.) Every time we get to the same Swisscom page (unfortunately I can’t insert the picture):

    [https://www2.swisscom.ch/splashpage/guest/app/Accessld?sitecatalyst.disable=true#/](https://www2.swisscom.ch/splashpage/guest/app/Accessld?sitecatalyst.disable= true#/)

    On this page you have to enter a 6-digit activation code, which you have to request from Swisscom. You have to have the Anschluss identification number (binding ID) ready.

    Unfortunately, I tried to request this code without success. This page simply doesn’t tell anyone anything, and there doesn’t seem to be a 6-digit code either. We just can’t get on the internet.

    Does anyone here know the problem and can help?

    • DSL-Anschluss

      In the router configuration menu, DHCP option 60 must be configurable for the WAN interface and set to 100008,0001.

      In the router configuration menu, the VLAN ID for the WAN interface must be set to VLAN ID 11.

      And in the browser www.swisscom.ch/access or [http://www.swisscom.ch/registration](http://www.swisscom.ch/ registration). Then it should work. But I would suggest connecting CB2.0 first, because the Anschluss was preconfigured for the CB2.0 if it was included when ordering the connection was delivered.

    Hello

    I’m also trying to access the Internet with the Zyxel XMG3927-B50A. Unfortunately unsuccessful. The access data is all entered correctly, an IP address is obtained, the light is blue and flashes. I just can’t access the internet. What can be the cause? I’m grateful for every hint

    No I haven’t. I have already contacted Zyxel Support. They accessed the router via the hotspot on the laptop, but couldn’t find anything as to why the router wasn’t releasing the connection.

    It is a naked DSL Anschluss (private). The connection to the provider can be established so that the light on the device turns blue. However, no data is coming through so I could access the Internet. I entered everything correctly as username and login

    Which access data? For Swisscom private customers you do not need any access data. You get the IP via DHCP and the mentioned DHCP option 60 and in this case without VLAN.

    Then visit www.swisscom.ch/access. There you need a DSL serial number or, if necessary, a login via Swisscom Login.

    If you are with a different provider, the situation is of course different…

    Yes, I’m with a different provider. Previously had a Fritzbox. My Anschluss worked without any problems. But it stopped working and that’s why I bought the Zyxel router

    @user109

    Yes, my English is very bad 😞

    And apparently the XMG3937 is unsuitable for me.

    The current network configuration is the IB2 and a WiFi box. There are no landline telephones.

    Since our apartment extends over two floors and is built to the Minergie standard, I unfortunately have the problem that the WiFi signal is distributed unevenly.

    I have o.e. Bought a Zyxel modem because you can’t set the IB2 to bridge and the Zyxel supports g.fast. The idea was that the Netgear X6 R8000 would do the routing and the Zyxel would be bridged. In this configuration I couldn’t get a connection to the Internet. If the Zyxel routes, it works perfectly. I will probably return the Zyxel. Because according to Swisscom Support, no g.fast will be activated where I live for the next few years and I’m happy with the 100k line.

    Even with the R8000 alone I can’t reach every corner of the apartment. And unfortunately the RJ45 sockets are placed rather badly. Without laying a long cable, you have no chance of placing the R8000 correctly.

    It would probably be best to combine two routers of the same type into a single WiFi. How can I realize this?

    How do you come up with that?

    A home network usually only needs a single router. For better WiFi coverage, you don’t need several routers, but rather several intelligently placed WiFi access points….

    All of this is actually possible with the Internet box and the WLAN box

    Hello everyone,

    When I go to the Swisscom registration page, the message appears that I need a 6-digit code to activate the line.

    swisscomsupport said they had no way of sending me this code. Nobody at swisscom could do that.

    can you help me with that?

    @Floeggu87

    If you don’t write any further details here, absolutely no one will be able to help you, because there are significant differences between the various providers and the connection types copper and fiber optic and private customers or SME subscriptions.
